What player do you model your game after?

I would be Mike Sigel if I could..... Doubt he would see any of him in my table-fumblings though....

* wish I had started this crap earlier *

This guy...

But really, SVB would be my choice. I like his stroke and his attitude at the table.

For those who model their game after a certain player: what player do you try to play like? What parts of their game do you try to adopt most?

Mike Sigal. Like his short practice stroke. Opposite of Efrens.
For awhile I slipped to Efren's stroke and all hell badly broke loose. Went back to notes and voila! Instant repair. Very quiet compact little movement. Liked his MO. Very basic and kept cool by chewing gum and talking a lot. Only dislike he was slow at times. Would take his stance 2-3 times before firing. Or re calibrate all over again.

Ralph Greenleaf.
I like to drink too much and disappear for days at a time ..
Then show up unexpectedly dressed to the nines and whip the snot out of you

a vertically challenged player

Nothing more irritating to me than lining up the "perfect" shot and not being able to reach it.

I am 5 foot even and have always played on a 9 foot table. When I was first learning position play I modeled my game (not necessarily my stroke) after Little Petey, he was about my height. He always played position to the rails so he could reach the shot. He taught me perfect position is a matter of perspective.

I really enjoyed watching George Brundt who was out of Wisconsin play. I was a kid when he came into Raytown Rec and played one of the top players in the City "Elwood" Rick Thompson. George gave Rick the 7 ball and beat him. He was smooth and had a slow but rhythmic style that I tried to copy.

SVB and Appleton, I like the way they choose their shots and I admire their stroke techniques. I am trying to simplify my own stroke a bit and Appletons stroke seems pretty similiar to mine, so that fills my youtube history currently

Ronnie O'sullivan for his smooth cue delivery with long backswing and agressive play.

All of them none of them flip a coin. Heads you win tales you lose.but if you call it on the table you are covered. Neat trick huh lol bet any takers?

I am older and loved the way Mosconi played. More contemporary would be Ray Martin. Also Toby Sweet, but not many players would have ever seen him play to know what I am talking about.

On the other side of the coin at least for me is Danny DiLiberto. If you play much with him or am around him too much his jerky way of playing, he even walks funny can rub off. You can pick it up his habits and all, and have a hard time getting it out of your head.
