Justin Bergman v Jayson Shaw....Oct 13 & 14

For me, picking Shaw is a no brainer. Anyone interested in taking Bergman?

Hey Eric, Marc in the action area wants a lot of action on Bergman if you are wanting to throw down a bet on it.

I am assuming 9'? I'd take Shaw for the cash on this one even as well as Bergman is playing.

I think Marc is wanting to bet on Shaw.

Gotta love Jason, boy has serious stones to roll over to the lions den and put up 10 Gs

Well said. Jayson is my favorite player just because of that. Throw in his "fast and loose" style, and he's perfect for the game.

I think I'd pick Shaw over any American right now except Shane. He is playing strong. He recently won the Eastern State Championship, race to 13, 10-Ball, in literally an hour. And let's not forget his 22 minute thrashing to Mika Immonen at Turning Stone, but that was 9 ball.

Nice. Thanks Teach. Bergman will have his hands full. I'd give an edge to Shaw.

You're in the majority, BRussell. I can see why people would pick Shaw to win.
He supposed to win—on paper. However, the "Berg" is playing jam up right now. He is NOT intimidated by Shaw whatsoever. That's very important. Maybe a few years ago this would have been an issue, but now; no way.

I give the mental edge to "Berg." Shaw is mercurial at times and he periodically errs due to (like a few have pointed out) carelessness, temperament, and other internal factors. The "Berg" is solid all the way around and he is getting better.

Shaw doesn't have to win this match that's for sure.
This match is not going to be about the breaks or putting balls in the hole.
It's going to be dictated by emotional control, and thereby the "Berg" wins this.

I'm taking Bergman, Eric.
No-brainer to pick Shaw? I can respect that.

IMO though, this is going to be a showcase for Bergman's "coming out."
He is going to beat Shaw not because he is a better player than Shaw,
but only because he is mentally tougher than Shaw. you watch.
Once Shaw realizes he doesn't like it, he is going to give up. Berg is
tough. It's his time to shine.

Well this remains to be seen ,, his roll has been in 9 ball he's simply not running 23 out of 27 racks the moment he got slowed down in Texas he lost ,,
10 ball and tight pockets both favor Shaw
I don't think Berg can get a lead that will fluster Shaw

I have yet to see a good match with Justin Bergman on youtube besides the USBTC matches. Anyone have a link to a good 9 ft. table match with the Iceberg?
