uniloc question

I currently have a lucasi hybrid with a uniloc quick release.

I am using a predator z3 shaft with a uniloc also, works fine together.

I was browsing a catalog and noticed some other cues I am interested in buying called "simply the one." They feature a uniloc radial pin. Will that work with a uniloc z3? Thanks.

havent seen the cue. but i'm sure that if they are both unilock quick release radials then they will both fit. the joint hardware (pin and insert)is unilock the shaft is a predator.....shaft doesn't matter only the joint

Uniloc Quick release and a uniloc radial are two different joints. I don't think it will work, but I have been wrong once before.

Uniloc quick release is a piloted 5/16 size pin and the radial is 3/8 flat faced joint. Two different joints that won't work together

Ben

Uniloc radial has thread almost all the way up the pin where unloc only has a small amount of thread.

You need to check your eyesight .................................

A radial pin butt will not fit into a uniloc shaft,

The ad for the cue called ( the one ) doesn't say uniloc radial, it says ( RADIAL ).

But after this thread I am sure we gave some guy in china a knew idea to make another bastard pin...

As far as I can tell there is no such thing as a uniloc radial pin...

Uniloc radial is on a few cue types. My predator LE3 has one. You can see what it looks like and which cues use it here:

they are very different

I asked this question before ever looking online. And now that I have looked online I can see why people are saying it is a radial and not a uniloc radial, however in the physical catalog that I got my information from it clearly says uni-loc radial pin.

The company Uni-Loc, makes radial pins, they are called Uni-Loc radial pins

I think the confusion stems from before the "radial" pin came on the market 10 or 15 years ago, the only pin using the name "uni-loc" anywhere in its title was the pin that has only one or two rows of threads, and tightens with only one or two total turns.

Shortly after that pin came out, the "radial" pin came out. Which is a wood to wood pin with wavy threads.

Then, the confusion came, when the radial pin was brought under the umbrella of the Uni-loc company. They started making both pins some years later, and now, uni-loc can mean either of the above two pins, if you don't specify, because Uni-loc is the company name.

Finally, I think Predator is now the owner of the entire uni-loc company. And they added a few more pins with the uni-loc name in their title under the poison brand.

I'm not 100% on all of the above, but about 95% I feel.
