My name is Jorge Rodriguez and I'm a full-time professional pool player residing in New York City. *I am the House Pro at Gotham City Billiards Club in Brooklyn, New York. *In the pool community, I am known amongst my peers to be a person of strong integrity. *I pride myself on my honesty and strong moral principles. *


I have dedicated my life to the game of pool and constantly practice to hone my skills. *I am constantly advising up-and-coming players as well as those who play for the fun of the game. *On and off the tournament circuit, I am known for my competitive spirit. *I thrive on competition. *I've played and beaten many of the world's top players. *I am almost always "in the money" in major professional tournaments (United States Open 9-Ball Championship: Turning Stone Classic; Derby City Classic). *I compete weekly in east coast professional tournaments sponsored by Predator and Joss and consistently finish in the top three. *Most times, my entry fee is posted by Gotham City Billiards Club. *However, because of the insignificant payouts in those tournaments, coupled with the cost of lodging and travel to and from those venues, and my daily (non-pool related) expenses, it has been difficult to meet the income needed for my subsistence.
In an effort to make ends meet, I am reaching out in need of sponsorship. In my position as a pro player, I am in contact regularly with hundreds of friends and fans in the pool community on a daily basis. Jorge is definitely one of the big names in NYC pool, I've watched him play several famous pros and come out on top. While I lack the fundage to support (unless I win the Megabucks playoffs this and next weekend), I can at least throw my 2 cents in here. Also.... after this video, Amy took the hot seat in the predator stop at Gotham a few weekends later, losing in the finals. A few weeks before, she was coming back after a long layoff and struggling with her game a bit. Looks like her lesson with Jorge helped.
 
You beat me in the SBE 2 years ago. It was a pleasure watching you play. I say watch YOU play because it was no contest. I had just started playing 9 ball maybe 8 months before the match. I got some false hope on the practice tables but you were in another class. Good luck and I hope you get the support you're looking for.
 
I've only met Jorge a few times. I think a group of friends went out to breakfast one time in Rhode Island. I've watched his tourneys at Snookers. He has always seemed like a good guy and a hell of a player. From what I've seen I imagine that he would be a credit to someone looking to promote their brand.

Honestly I really like how he would just post on here saying hey, I'd like a sponsor and here is why. I like that Jorge stands up, takes a shot. That is a LOT more than most so called "pros" do.

If i were to jump into the mix and say something questionable about his character and he was getting beat up in this thread by everyone, I'm sure Mark would INSTA-sponsor him. LOL :D

But there is nothing negative to say.
Jorge is a good guy, a pleasure to play, and a great talent.

Sorry i couldn't help him out with some negativity.

But you never know.
Someone might yet swoop down and play the hero.:rolleyes:

Welcome to AZ. Just be warned that you need to have a thick skin here. You can ask Mike Wong, Smiley, Finnegan, Jim Murnak, and a few others from the New York pool scene.

I hope the very best for you. Are you playing in any of these tournaments this weekend? Predator at Steinway and/or NJ State 9-ball (Mezz) at Sandcastle, for fans and potential sponsors to meet you in person.

Contact Mezz cues,im sure that they would be happy to have you representing them,here in Europe they sponsor big amount of players,which of 70 procent of them are no close to you caliber,i watched some of your matches on Youtube,and in my opinion you are real professional player on and off the table.Best wishes from Bosnia

Jorge was in the final episode of the hustlers, and he was the 2nd place finisher in the tournament at the end when Manny the Steinway owner defeated him.
Georgie can play with the best.

I'll happily attest to Jorge's character, professionalism and ability to hold his own with just about anybody.
He would surely be a welcome addition to anyone or any company looking for an individual to represent their best interests, and would make for a well respected partnership. He certainly is a player that deserves to have an opportunity.
