Mosconi Cup 2015, Boyes: 'Disappointed if we aren't partying on Wednesday!'

Thanks to Darren for responding and clearing up some
So let's just say you haven't faired well in money matches in the states to be more accurate
I think Darren could hang with Shane in nine bsll if the racking conditions were neutral
It's scary how big difference is even at the top level if Shane can give a multiple works champion the lol
Boyes is the Europe dechaine
If he was chocolate he would eat himself and I don't know why

Ah, Karl and Darren in the same thread...brilliant.

I've arranged for a nice gift basket to be sent to your rooms upon your arrival in Vegas.
It will contain some nice fruits and cheeses, a bottle of wine, some diapers and a box of tissues.

Why the diapers and tissues?
When Team USA snatches the trophy this year you're gonna poop on yourself and cry.

Best of luck gentlemen.

I've faired very well in states yes I lost to Shane in a classic for 5k. .. Played bad on Dennis hatch for 10k. and Bartram for 5k giving handicap 8ball at 10ball and another bad match with Danny smith one pocket for 10k I think. .. Besides them matches I've pretty much swept up in all other matches .. Bartram twice big head sets giving handicap and we took most of the rail money so around 40k we won there .beat pinegar 10ball after he beat me 9ball few sets 10ball.so we was up there , Chip Compton one pocket 10k. Few good road players in Florida for 15-20k.giving big handicaps Won a lot of money playing one pocket in Vegas giving massive handicaps , won money all over philly giving huge handicaps on numerous accasions ,Scott frost beat him bar table all around for money , Beat the likes of Scotty Townsend, Ronnie wiseman when I first come over .. And loads of others when I was on the road so many I can't remember them all but I won a lot.

Challenge matches I was about even where both players getting paid winning and losing fees so there not really money gambling games like tar matches and accu stat matches us open warm up matches all same thing .. Ring games etc.. So actually I won more of them that lost .. But whatever.

I know I'm well up on gambling matches in states that's all what matters 👍.

Around 70-75% success rate so I faired not bad really ..

So I've done very well financially gambling in states that's for sure.

Why don't u knock Shane or Dennis and all the other guys when they lose and play bad in money matches because those guys have lost matches also.. That's gambling u gonna lose some u gonna play bad like we all have on some accasions .. That's gambling but the top guys will win more than they lose and I'm in that bracket ..

Darren,

Quick question.. In the Mosconi Cup, do you feel more pressure playing singles or doubles?

You don't mention all the money matches I've won?..
like 75-80% won more than I've lost

All the 5-15k money matches i won in manila against world class players that i beat day in day out over a spell of 3 years from 06-9 No other Western player gambled and won the way i did in Philippines.I could write a Book on it. :) You wouldn't believe how many close huge sets i won with everyone routing against me there and i was on my own with my Stakehorse but i bet my own also. Always

All the Money Matches i won in USA and Europe from say 06-2012...
all the Money Matches i won at English 8ball from 93-2006 i won about 95% of my Matches and some Huge sets 20-50k etc.

Yes i lost a few games like Everyone Else but over a 20 years spell i might have one of the Best Records for Money Matches thats for sure. and I've played loads of top players not hustled and looked for Handicaps Ive only given Handicaps.

The match with Shane was 08 and i played great but the break killed me.

From 93-2009 i would say i was much better money player than tournament player for sure..
Recent years i rarely play for money as i focus on tournament play these days,Gambling all the time good but it affects your tournament play.So i Decided to Focus on Tournaments as it means so much more to be Successful and to be Remembered for what I've Achieved and make a good honest clean living and be proud of what I've achieved when its all said and done:) But i might come out of retirement and play some big sets Again soon. For me its lack of Motivation and Hunger to do so at the moment:-).

Still during that time I've made more money gambling than I've lost.. but not like from 93-2009 .

So i would say my Winning Percentage Record Money Matches is about 80% and Probably Made Over 500k in 20-22years.

Thats not bad for a guy that CANT PRODUCE :thumb up:

Darren

500k is a damn nice number. Shane's reported winnings are over a million dollars in the past decade. Maybe it's time you played him some big sets and chopped into his bank account. :-)

Darren, I am American all the way and a huge team USA fan but you should know that many of us are major fans of you and what you have accomplished. Don't doubt for a minute that the reason some here are battling with you is BECAUSE of how good you are.

I was able to hang out with you in the Beatles lounge a couple of years ago right before things got a little crazy and you and the rest of the Euro team were way cool. I hope to get a chance to say hello again in about a week as I will be there again rooting for team USA.

Good luck and the best of rolls to both teams!

If his won a million dollars playing money games fair players him 👍

Prize money I guess I'd be over 2million in my career but that's over 20 years.

Let em know that even in the USA this is still your pool world. ha ha

Good luck in the cup.

Totally appreciate your civil responses
John French needs a lesson in that

An yes you will get back lash as you Svb dennis akex are all in the same category in my book

Fair point. I don't know how much Shane has won when he was on the road. I think you guys in England have a lot more gamble and of course in the Philippines you would get tons of action. So for sure you have likely had way more opportunity to play big money games. I heard you did really well playing one ball one pocket.

Shane's 1.1million (rounded up) is only what's listed on the AZB money list for the past ten years.

I will say that you have the complete game. Winning the Chinese 8 ball is a pretty damn good feat along with all your other titles. I'd be afraid to play you for money in any pool game known no matter how good I was.

Not fair!

I have a lot of respect for the good European shooters and most seem like decent and fierce competitors. But, here are some facts.

As I said before. Team USA is playing against a stacked deck when playing Team Europe, which has the potential for a larger talent pool to choose from. Is that really a fair competition? Put Team USA up against a Team England, Team Finland, Team Germany, etc. You might see some different results.

At least let Team USA have the option of choosing a player or 2 from Canada. A Team America would be a much fairer competition then expecting the USA to beat a team selected from what all of Europe can offer on any given year.

Until this happens Team USA will always be playing against a stacked deck. It's past time to take an honest look at the Mosconi Cup and address the issue of whether or not it is a fair competition.

An honest look at how the deck is stacked should take some of the hot air out of any one that is touting their superiority.

Go Team USA !

Team Great Britain would be something along the lines of Appleton, Boyes, Shaw, Gray, Melling/Peach
I like this team to beat the current USA team.

If team USA can't find five players to be competitive against anyone. That's a shame.
