DCC BigFoot Match Updates

Efren to break.

Efren makes a ball on the break but doesn't have a shot on the one, so he plays a safety.

Jayson should be able to hit it. he jump banks the one and cinches it.

two is a slightly funky angle but he cuts it in and comes two rails out for the three which is sitting in the corner pocket .

The rest of the rack is pretty straight forward. should be one nothing Shaw.

It is...

Thanks for this, and any other updates in the future.

Reading these recaps (hearing Vin Scully's voice in my head) go a long way toward getting me through a day at the office.

Shaw to break.

several balls flirt with the pocket but he ends up dry.

Efren with open shot on the one sitting in the corner and an open table.

It might be a little tough to get on the four right, and it is. Efren gets funky on the four and it looks like he'll have to play a safe.

he might have a two way with a bank.

he goes for the two way and ends up leaving it tough. I got distracted and the next I looked up Efren was back at the table running out...

1-1

Bonus points for the honesty..."something happened" but it's 1-1

Efren breaks...

Effie breaks dry.

One doesn't have a pocket except for a bank, but I would think he'll play safe.

He does but the cb leaks out. may have a flyer at the tensince the one locked up on the ten, but I think he'll play a safe too.

Efren manages to leave the cueball on the footrailwith the one in the middle of the table.

Jayson plays a middle rail bank safe but Efren and see the one.

Can't say the same for Shaw after Efren safeties him.

Jayson two rail kicks and the one and hits it almost making it up in the corner, leaving Efren a thin cut which of course he cinches with shape.

Efren has a slight angle to follow off the rail and play the three in the opposite side, but the six is slightly in the way, we'll have to see what he does with it.

He tries it, but runs into the six and has to play the three down table in the corner.

no problem, he's straight on the four and after getting good on the five he should be out.

gets slightly on the wrong side of the nine and has to play three rail shape for the ten but does it.

2-1 Efren.

Efren breaks...

Another dry break but very consistent, one ended up in the same exact place as last break.

Jayson plays at a safe but the one leaks out leaving Efren a tough but open shot at the one.

Efren slightly over cuts it but leaves Shaw hooked behind the three. Jayson kicks at and hooks Efren behind the six.

Efren kicks it in sliding it past the five into the corner with barely room to squeeze by it.

Now it looks like he may have to go for a long two ten combo or play safe, but in the best one pocket player in the world's fashion, he cross banks it instead and runs out,

He's looking like the Efren of old right now.

3-1.

Wow, some impressive shots by Efren to lead 3-1 despite breaking dry
Come on Effie

Another dry break for Efren.

This time Shaw has an open shot on the one.

There doesn't seem to be too many problems with this rack, the four might be a little tough.

yeah, Shaw overcuts the four and Efren has a shot at cutting it in, but he also over cuts it leaving Jayson a bank into the side.

He makes the bank but travels a little far with whitey and has a back cut on the five. he makes that and should be out here to get back within one.

3-2

So far in this tournament, Jayson has looked unbeatable...
...and Efren has looked beatable.

Makes for a fair match. :)

Jayson to break.

He makes two balls on the break and has a shot on the one with a fairly open table, this might be the first bnr of the match.

break and run to tie it up at 3-3

Jaden

Efren is shooting a .941 and Jayson a .903.

Except for the two overcuts on the 4 ball this has been a very well played and entertaining match.

Jayson to break.

Sorry I missed what happened early on, but Efren is now at the table shooting at the one with three balls down, he fires it up into the corner with shape on the two, I don't see any difficulties, Effie should jump back into the lead here.

4-3.

Efren breaks...

dry break again. Efren needs to go to the gym...

leaves a tough back cut on the one, or a shot into the side. Jayson cinches the back cut and then rattles the two but gets a lucky safe.

Efren kicks it and leaves it tough, shaw thins it and safeties efren.

Efren kick safes Shaw, but he jumps it in like it was a one foot hanger...

leaves himself a thin cut or a bank on the three. He elects to bank and I don't blame him since one of the only mistakes he's made this match is the missed thin cut on the four.

he makes the bank with shape on the four but has to pop the cueball off the rail and doesn't quite get far enough back across table to shoot the five right and overcuts the five.

leaves efren a tough cut with cb against the rail on one side of the table and the five on the rail on the other side.

Efren slow roll two ways it and hides it behind the seven.

Shaw makes it then shanks a bank on the six and leaves Efren a shot.

Efren gets on the eight after nudging it and the only tough thing is the nine is close to the ten and the ten is blocking the best pocket for it.

Efren elects to play short side shape on it and marry's the cueball to it and is forced to play safe.

JAyson goes for the glory and banks it but goes wide. Efren should extend his lead here to two games again.

5-3.

Efren breaks...

Effie breaks dry again and leaves the one right in the pocket.

There are a couple of balls that are close to each other so we'll have to see how Jayson elects to play these.

It shouldn't be a problem, he should be able to play one rail shape off the one to cneter table and then draw off the two for the three in the side, then the balls will be pretty open.

Players take a timeout.

I missed some of it after they came back from the timeout, but shaw is running the last three balls to get within one.

5-4
