JB case just ordered

Here'd the conversation as I see it...

jb.. Hey I'll give you $50 off if you get on az and pretend like you have no idea about my ignorance and rudeness on the forum and give me a glowing review!

buyer..okie dokie

sounds about right lol

How much did a competitive case maker pay you to post this sheit  ? Just wondering .

Trob, it's just plain wrong. Your post is exactly what I find wrong with AZ these days. Even a new member who shows some excitement for our game can't express it with out a negative comment. Just plain sad.

Lyn

I don't know what his problem is. He was extremely nice when he let me upgrade the liner in his case.

Must be that "in-person" thing vs. the online thing. Online people seem to feel much more free to be complete assholes. It's like a switch flips and jerk statements just flow like unbound verse oiled by free association not constrained by facts or truth.

The thread, JB's posts and the video make me want a JB case. I really like the full customization. Nice cases JB.

ROALMFAO ,,, it even comes with a discount coupon if you post here lol
I traded in reading the funny pages for AZB to get my daily laughs

Like I said I am new here so was wondering am I missing something. I don't see what is so amusing about my statement. Is their some inside joke I should know about.

This thread let me know they have good customer service. JB posts, as far as I have seen, seem helpful. And watching the video shows a lot of customization, of which I did not know was possible.

Yes, you are missing something.

What you are missing is the fact that some of the active members here are grumpy, curmudgeonly old men.

It is easy to spot them,,,,, and after this post more will make an appearance in this thread.

Really like the first 4x8 Royal blue one.

I have been thinking about getting one and might have found what I want sort of..

I would want it
2x5/3x4
regular straps not backpack
only the top zipper pulls colored
3 pockets with the bottom pocket having the divider
No initials

How much for something like that?

Stock Cases & Custom Cases

WOW! I watched the entire "weekly Showcase". You continue to evolve your cue case business John.

As you know I have always liked the backpack straps. I love the fact that the backpack straps leave both of my hands free.

The new embroidery capabilities make super customization available on any of your Rugged Case designs.

I like the velcro movable pockets too. I carry different items in my case and would like to keep them separated.

Congratulations on moving your business forward as always.

So I suppose anyone who wants to order a custom cue case can simply get on your website and/or telephone you to ask questions?

Ooops I forgot the link to the weekly showcase.

I also like the option of velcro movable pockets. None of the completed cases he showed in the galleries were exactly my taste (some were close) but given the breadth of options and customization available, it wouldn't be hard to design one that is.

Thanks for that last information (sentence) in blue. Super useful contribution, given I'm certain there are numerous people who needed that tip to understand what is required to be a customer and purchase goods. I think that's why some people mocked this thread when it started. They denounced the OP for announcing something as simple as making the purchase, when in fact they didn't really know how it could be done until you enlightened them in blue font. :grin-square:

I have a couple of Wave cases that were on sale and a JB Rugged. They all work well. I'm thinking about ordering another Ultimate Rugged, not sure 2X5 to 4X8 but with the bottom pocket a little larger (taller) to fit an extension.

Yes, we have three people taking custom orders and if it's possible for us to something we will generally try to do it.

John, I asked this over in the cue case forum, but you have not been over there recently.

Have two questions.

1) What is the difference between 1st generation and 2nd generation Rugged cases?

2) You have an option on your order form for storing a cue ball in the lid of the case. Would there be any way to change that to store joint protectors? Something along the line of an elastic strap material that would secure the joint protectors while having the cue(s) in play. Most likely a way to store four joint protectors at a time.

Was thinking of a piece of elastic strap that has five stitch lines that are parallel, spaced at a distance where each joint protector would stay secure. Slip in/slip out quickly.

You most likely have a better solution...would appreciate your thoughts before I place my order.

Getting tired of digging through pockets at the end of the night looking for joint protectors.

Six, is that you in the Duster?

I have 2 of them. I keep them in the linen closet.

Cool, cause I love watching Duster videos. The History Channel series, "Dust Up", was done approx 5 hrs from where I live.

Joey will start a thread to talk about a previous thread which is referencing a post from a different thread.

In the competition of thread starting, Joey offers the break and BIH and the wild 1 to anyone.

Or simply overwhelm a thread.

Maybe it's just me but I your statement "some posters just like to strut their POWER & AUTHORITY on the Main Forum" ironic, at best.

yea that's me with my baby, a 2010 Air Tractor 502. The "dust up" show was not real life aerial application for the most part. Drama!!!!

Well, you see, some people have limitations in their mind about what constitutes "custom". Sometimes, customers make new suggestions to JBCases and they listen and often integrate a customer's ideas into their production.

And sometimes, people are just a little shy about calling a manufacturer on the telephone but as John said, they have 3 people handling custom orders, so I suppose they have heard just about every kind of question when it comes to cue cases.

When you think about how much time we put into playing pool, it makes sense to have a case customized if you have the time to wait on it. If you order a case for your significant other, JB cases can now put just about any signage on the case as well as decorate it in any colors of your choice.

Instroke cases

Yes, we have three people taking custom orders and if it's possible for us to something we will generally try to do it.

Straight up.
If it would of been me buying your interests of Instroke cases from you.
I would of done everything I could of to put it in the contract that you could no longer make pool cue cases......

My statement is meant to be taken as a compliment

That would have cost them a lot more money. As it was they got four years before I decided to make cases again.

Earlier today I handed a customer her new JB Case. She brought her new cue so that we could do a little video on how we matched the veneer colors in the cue on the case. She has a fairly new Instroke. When I put her cue back into her Instroke I was very saddened to see it drop in and rattle around.

I put my fingers in the holes and they have eliminated all the padding. Essentially the very foundation I built Instroke on, superior PADDED protection is now gone.

I don't know why it's gone, easier to build, the trend of rubber-gripped cues....but instead of keeping the part that made Instroke so great they eliminated it. There are people around who can tell you stories of me turning the case over with their $10,000 cues inside when I owned Instroke.

I am glad that the brand continues. There is a certain pride for me knowing that I started a brand in my apartment building's basement storage room that has now been going well for 25 years. But I am sad that they ripped the heart out of the cases.

My thoughts on a non-compete are that they would have had to come with a seven figure amount to get me to stay away from case making. I have no desire to go into full blown mass production but should I ever get that desire then I will definitely make them regret not coming with an offer that sent me into another line of work. ;-)

As it stands right now I am the unofficial R&D for them anyway given that they copied my Mason design, badly copied it.

I will always cherish the time I spent building Instroke. Learned a lot about business and partnerships and manufacturing. All on a smale scale but still a great experience overall. I like to say I got 13 years of on-the-job training and small parting bonus. :-)

Thanks KD!

That is a perfect solution to a simple problem.

JB, you should have that on your custom order form near the lid ball holder line, with the added cost.

There is an awful lot we need to make people aware of when they order. I hope that this year I can afford to hire an in-house web designer and graphic artist to keep our site up to date with all the innovations we have created (or stolen from other types of bags).

For example the joint protectors in the lid, we already did it.

chris-dealercase-e-lid.jpg

This way as well as doing the elastic bands. I owe Kid Dynomite a modified lid for that purpose.

In fact on the suggestion front Mike ordered a case that we ended up naming after him, The Dynomite Rugged model which fetures two longer and taller pockets. Ended up looking great and so we built more which did well. Need to make more of them.

Anyway here is a small list of some of the things we have done.

http://www.jbcases.com/options.html

And it's woefully incomplete. :-(
