Shouldn't matter.

Don't make excuses for thieves.

There are a bunch of booths together....they all look out for each other.
...careful planning, a thief with an empty case....

Yeah, I would never take my eyes off of a cue like that (if it were mine). Such a beautiful cue, by an amazing cue maker. So sad it got stolen. I would literally be crying if a cue like that was stolen from me. I hope it gets found, or seen and confiscated by anyone that knows it is a stolen cue, and returned to the owner. I am really sorry to hear about this.

Are you certain on the maker? Lenny I know you know your stuff but by memory it looks IDENTICAL to a Bob Frey " Flame Cue " that was for sale on AZ a little while back? But yes I agree this really sucks and I truly hope the thief is found and gets everything and then some of what they have coming to them. FWIW, I will Def keep an eye out in my neck of the woods. Just for information purposes, ball parked what is a cue like this worth?

There are predators waiting for an opportunity to grab an expensive cue. Unfortunately it happens quite often. This is why most pool players walk around with their cue strapped to their body and only set it down when they are preparing to play or eat dinner, and then the cue sits right next to them.

They exist. How do you care for your cue to prevent it from leaving? A case under a table disappears.

Yeah, it only takes maybe a minute of taking your eyes off your cue for it to get stolen. I am very curious how the owner allowed the cue to get stolen. It is none of my business, but I am just curious for more details as to what exactly happened (like did the owner lay it down on a pool table during a restroom break, during a match, or maybe it was stolen out of his car). This is very sad. Hope the cue gets returned somehow. Maybe post flyers of pics, and a reward for the cues return. Someone must have seen it happen if it was in the tournament room (when it got stolen). Someone must know something.

Yeah, this is just another reason for pools bad image I think. Too many bad people out there that are really into pool, and hang out at big events like the DCC.

I can tolerate a lot of things, but thieves aren't one of them. They make me want to go ape-shit. I'm sorry this has happened and I really hope the p.o.s. get caught and the cue returned.

I think that is a Brian diveney cue, the son of pat.

Used value $800- 1500. New, 1000- 1750...imma guess.

Actually, as long as I've been playing pool, the thing you have to watch out for at a host venue is when you leave your cues in your locked room in the morning hours, thinking it will be safe there.
When housekeeping comes, they always have the door open. (Forget if that's a law or not)
THAT'S when thieves just walk right into your room pretending it's actually their room, and grabbing your cues or whatever else they can like they forgot it, and then they just walk out.

Tons of stuff gets stolen that way.

I would think a casino venue has a lot more cameras though.
Hope they catch the s%#&head.

When I stay at a hotel I ALWAYS make it a point to leave the " do not disturb " sign on the door for reasons just as this. I also Def do not use the in room safe as I believe it just makes it easier for them. Generally I don't travel with valuables but if I do I will use the safe deposit box with manager at front desk. I realize a pool cue is different but if it was valuable or important to me I Def would not leave unattended in the room. While luckily I've never had a loss at a hotel, I have heard many many cruddy stories in regards to thefts at hotels.

BB - thanks bro!

I will keep a sharp eye out for here in Colorado. Sorry to hear about this. F*cking thieves. I wish you the best of the return of your cue.

Player I am not making excuses for any thief. I am a Cue collector I have over 70 cues and I'm very careful with all of them when I'm out and at home. Stealing is something that should never happen. And let me say again I'm not making any excuses for any thief.
