I'm not trying to act like the smartest guy in the room,
but is anyone else occasionally ASTOUNDED at how dumb some wealthy people are?
Dumb: trying to make a legal contract for something that is a legal gray area,
staking players in a gambling match.
Playing a game of skill and betting on the outcome is legal, but side bets are not
(in most states... this includes calcuttas) and it's not legal for any third party
to make a profit on two people gambling. How's the court gonna look at a stakehorse?
Dumb: thinking you can get away with ANY kind of contract involving a guy
with limited english who dropped out of school at age 9.
Dumb: trying to lock in exclusivity for a DECADE.
Dumb: thinking you can expect 50% of Dennis' actual financial earnings without promising a penny in return,
only vague "representation and advice", like French is some kind of consultant and not a backer.
Dumb: Trying to exploit someone with some amateurish horseshit lopsided contract, and actually expecting
sympathy by posting it in public... like we'd all see Dennis as the bad guy and John as the victim.
Dumb: Not only does John fail to put his financial obligations in writing, he actually goes out of his way
to state he DIDN'T have anything to do with the money at Steinway. Dennis claims he negotiated that deal himself.
So if John isn't putting up the money and he's not arranging the match, what the hell does Dennis need him for?
And why did everyone in the stream keep saying stuff like "We really want to thank John for making this happen"?
Dumb: Being caught in a lie, at least a lie of omission, when the steinway stream was sold to people
as a $20,000 match and it was actually a $2,500 match... trying to cover his ass by posting a facebook
screenshot saying he had nothing to do with it... then in the same screenshot admitting to illegal side betting.

Until I saw this, I thought Frenchy was maybe just a goof with too much time and money
on his hands, who didn't have the common sense to know what things should be kept under wraps
(backing Ko at DCC) and what things should be stated up front (the reduced money in the Steinway match).
I figured maybe he had good intentions, at least.
But seeing this contract completely changes that impression.
Apparently this guy makes his money by suckering people into scam contracts.
He definitely didn't get there with brains.
