Dennis Orcollo contract

I have two things to say basically : 1st) I truly hope neither DO nor any other pool player has been or will be screwed by ANY CONTRACT they have or have not signed,
2nd) I AM SO SICK OF THESE ILLEGALS ( OR ) THE NON ILLEGALS USING THE LANGUAGE BARRIER AS AN ADVANTAGE. As a younger man I worked in MANY kitchens where cooks / servers / busboys used their supposed lack of knowledge of the English language as an excuse to NOT FOLLOW directions, do what is required, etc. I have owned businesses and in the spirit of good will have tried to employ THESE PEOPLE to no avail. I personally have seen countless times where THEO PEOPLE are receiving instruction from their boss, manager, owner and apparently CAN NOT UNDERSTAND the direction only to turn around and speak to fellow Co workers IN PERFECT ENGLISH!!!

Sorry, not really, but I can assure you within compliance of the law I WILL NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS in any of my businesses I own or operate. And truthfully, if it comes down to it I will gladly take the fine, each and every time.

I am not saying this of DO, mainly because I do not have the knoknowledge to do so. But I can tell you this happens ALL THE TIME AND IT IS BS!!!!!!!! Only going by what I have read; as that is all I have to go by, French does come across as an A - Hole, with a contract of that type. But on the flip side, if as Dynamite stayed French provided all of those things then we all are talking about something all together different now, NO? While Def not in contract, if all of those things WERE IN FACT PROVIDED then we will be having a TOTALLY DIFFERENT CONVERSATION CORRECT? IMHO, maybe we ALL SHOULD get the true facts before passing judgements and our own uninformed commentaries no?

I'm Def not picking any sides here, but to me it seems most of us DO NOT have all the true information we need to make an educated opinion or guess or even a commentary. While maybe not entitled to it, I for one, would like to know the truth about everything before I go making accusations, or opinions, or taking a stance on whatever.

They certainly haven't been doing themselves any favors lately. His credibility took a huge hit with the Ko match and his character took a super punch with this garbage
 
I've seen human slave contracts that were more fair than this. French, for lack of a better word, is a "Tool".

(FYI AZ people this does meet the test of a contract at face value IMO. However, any self-respecting judge would see right through this farce.).

Trying, for one minute, to ignore the hatred behind many of these statements, just what do you think DO would be trying to "take advantage of"?

Without exception, everyone who has read the contract has remarked that it is unbelievably one-sided. Whatever other things French may or may not have done for DO in the past, the contract did not require him to do them in the future. Anyone who can read English would know that.

Would any player in their right mind who understood the contract have signed it? I don't think so. So to me this strongly supports the argument that DO didn't understand it.

I just don't see what supposed advantage you think DO got by not being able to read English.

Read the contract again. Then try to imagine a scenario, where the terms are followed to the letter. 50%, of Dennis' winnings...For basically being some sort of manager. So DO has to play the worlds best players for scraps and then having it be cut in half...

DO is not an illegal immigrant. There is a huge difference between making yourself understood in everyday spoken language, and understanding the subtleties (or not so subtle in this case) implications of legal language. Many native speakers do not understand the meaning of key phrases in legal documents, they may have some idea of the general meaning, but in precise, practical terms, not so much.

Nope I don't either. All I've heard so far is a lot of fast talk from French, and lots of bootlicking from the usual sycophants (who will all deny this later, when the guy is inevitably exposed, this is not our first rodeo on AzB). Then the contract, the cancellation of the match, and the shenanigans with the other match. This does not smell right, in fact that's an understatement, it smells like the rotten carcass of a whale in the hot summer sun!

I have an idea whats going on. French is the latest in a long line of nutters who came out of nowhere, told a bunch of lies, screwed people over and will disappear back to wherever he came from shortly.

I know Dennis. I have done business with him. I have no problem believing he would sign something if someone he trusted asked him to. I could of put a contract in front of him bonding his family into slavery in Norway and told him it was so he could get 20% of sales from a Free Dennis shirt and he would of done it.

Hope I didnt give French any ideas.
 
Heres the plan, Dennis. Ill give you the 8 for 20K sets. You dump and we'll split. We'll call it "retribution income" and keep it unrelated to pool and billiards.
 
It's a well known fact that any contract involving someone from the Philippines must be signed in chicken blood to be binding. This will never hold up in court.

Contrary to what you may have read into my " rant ", there is no hatred. I will add a few important facts AND clarify what I was trying to say. My brother married a girl from South America ( yes she was an illegal until she married and now all is legal. With her comes many family members as you may imagine, as it turns out I am very good friends with MANY of them. It's all good as far as I'm concerned. ) I did state I hope no one has been taken advantage of and I will stand by that statement. I believe the perceived " hatred " from my statement was from my displeasure of folks from other countries that do not speak very good English and work here and it becomes a constant everyday problem trying to give direction. If this concept offends anyone I'm sorry, just a first hand observation. While some of you may not have ever had to deal with this first hand , I can ASSURE YOU it is most frustrating.

Once again, speaking from direct, first hand knowledge, first as a Co worker many times over, then as a supervisor - manager, then as an owner, I can assure you what I speak of is very real and happens ALL OF THE TIME. I DO NOT THINK anyone should ever be taken advantage of because of this EVER, but I was only referring to this being used as an advantage when one second no comprende - then as soon as the boss walks away English is spoken near as well as you or I. Once again, vast first hand knowledge of this and very annoying that's all. One last example: as I said about my brother: his wife's uncle from Peru lives with them. Whenever my brother asks the uncle to help out and or do something there is an apparent serious language barrier. When I take out that same uncle to go play pool for the evening he and I speak all night long without problem - and I do not speak the Espaniol. That's all I'm saying. Once again I Def am not taking sides in this maylay, and that contract looks SERIOUSLY F'D TO me and that is not cool at all to me. My post was strictly in response to multiple posts in regards to the inability to understand English. Once again, I do not know Dennis so therefore I have no idea what he can or can not understand so I was commenting only in a general sense and not specifically to him .

So if I were to have offended anyone with that post I do apoligize, but please do not read anything more into it than was intended.

As far as the contract itself goes it's valid, safe the salvatorian clause (which you in USA might not need, but we do). Furthermore there is the freedom to contract, as we call it.

I does list each sides responsibilities, however vague, but contracts usually cannot be challenged because of the content but due to formal problems (against public policy counts as a formal problem).

If Orcullo is dumb enough to sign a contract he cannot understand it's his fault.
A lawyer will argue that Orcullo does a lot of international playing (and quite a lot in the USA) and should therefore be familiar enough with English.

As far as Orcullo goes - what goes around comes around.

As far as I could tell from posts last night, French is just going to cut ties with Dennis and void the contract... which is the right thing to do for both parties. It's very nice to see your interpretation of potential future events but you'd be wrong.
 
I love the fact that French is on Facebook both trying to hold Orcollo to the contract AND distancing himself from it.
 
Wow.... This actually happened????

It think this whole situation reveals a lot about both the individual who signed the contract and the person who presented it to be signed. No wonder pool is in the state it's in...

I am also in utter disbelief that anyone would actually publicly post this contract for the world to see.... Ultimate backfire! LOL!!!!
