What is more maddening:
Someone buying a cue you built and putting a off the shelf LD shaft on it.
Someone buying your cue only to put in storage
You buy a cue from me, it's yours... as in yours to do with as you please.
Dale
I make cues to be played........ i am pissed off if they don't play with the cue
Kim
I know someone who has many high dollar cues, including one of mine. He usually puts a lucasi LD shaft on most he plays with. I don't get it. Usually when you buy a cue from a well known maker you want to play with it because the maker has a good reputation. Why ruin it with a cheap LD shaft?

I tend to agree but since we're here, why would either scenario be considered 'maddening' ?
Good question - so long as they were paid for their work why would (should?) they care?
I don't build cues for profit and I don't care what buyers do with the cues they pay for. It's important to me they are happy with their purchase. Sold a cue once. Where the buyer walked over and put it in a Bon fire. We were both happy about the deal. Now if he had ask for a warranty repair or refund. I may have been upset!

I understand your point, but seriously what is worse. Someone basically telling you don't know how to build a shaft or put it in th closet to profit on later.
Some cue builders build cues as art, that's cool. Don't expect them to be played. Most respected cue builders build pools cues because they are passionate about their craft and have worked years on playability. If all you care about is profit so be it, reputation and quality mean more to me.
