What happened to Robb Saez?

If two people are having words and a person decides to pull a weapon and go at someone then they deserve to be punished by street justice or the law. I know this first hand because 2 months ago I had a gun pulled out on me and a threat to your life or well being should be taken seriously.

Maybe he will stay sober after this and realize alcohol is not for him. Maybe he realized he brought it upon himself and was in the wrong. I know a few pool players who become idiots and gangster when they drink. Alcohol changes some people for the worse, I have met lots of good people who are another person when drinking.

Shane is lucky that "gypsy" is not still alive. It could be a serious problem!!!

It may still be!

Sometimes people running thier mouth push people to exteremes they would never have gone otherwise ,, if anyone thinks this is Shane's first rodeo they better think again ,, Iv seen Shane's mouth in action many times before and he's been locked up for fighting before also ,, of corse he didn't start that one either
One day Shane's going to piss off the guy who will use the pool stick for more than just a threat and his Crew won't be there to save him

No Shit!!

Chris Young is banned from Big Tymes, and that's Billy the Manager's brother.

I bet if Billy would have been there he would have broke it up before Robb got severely injured.

I feel bad for Robb. Every time I've been around Robb he's been a cool guy.

It's easy to beat up a heavily intoxicated dude. Shane should be ashamed of himself.

Am I wrong?

It could've very well have been the very first punch that caused the most damage... or the second or third. If he went after Shane with a weapon, all bets are off.

The times I've seen Robb sober he seems very nice, laid back and jokes around....

If you're physically fighting in the pool hall, it should be time to go for both players. It always takes two. ALWAYS!

At a Joss event in Connecticut about fifteen years ago, the police were called to settle a dispute between Robb and Frankie Hernandez. Punches were thrown. Threats were made. Not long after that, Robb disappeared and returned a Christian. Still a mans got to know his limitations  .

On at least two occasions I was witness to, Shane was involved in fist fights here in Rochester over pool games. Not long after the last incident, Shane moved to Toledo and I lost track of him.

Guess this is nothing new for either of them. Have to admit, both of their games have improved incredibly.

After fooling around with Fankie he's lucky he came back at all ,,
Both of them could pass for choir boy on their best behavior or street hoodlum on thier worst ,, and that flip can happen to either the second they start losing

You gotta admit there's a common denominator (Alcohol) that 'POOL' has to out run in most of these unfortunate 'friendly encounters'. Alcohol still remains as the only drug that you can legally purchase that is designed to specifically kill living tissue (brain cells/liver cells etc) in your body. We all have personality 'differences' sure, but more brain damage probably isn't going to help 'resolution conflicts'. Props to Shane for trying to at least help set the record straight in this FB post this morning. Hopefully Robb will make full recovery on 'all fronts' this time.

Was this at that JOSS where T. "Shorty" D. beat Rodney when he first came back on the scene?
I seem to remember talking to Ginky about that match afterwards, and right after, Rob and Frankie were getting in each other's faces.

Can't remember. So long ago.

I was one of the tournament directors for this event. I have already posted on Facebook, but will post on here as well. Shane Winters acted in self defense. We have gone over the camera footage. Unfortunately the GM, Billy S. nor myself were in the building at the time as he hadn't slept in 2 days. Everyone works pretty much non stop during the classic and sometimes it can be difficult to cover all 10,000+ sq. ft. of the room to prevent altercations.

Teresa(the other director) and I along with management can to the same agreement. That Shane should remain in the tournament, after the facts were discovered.

If they'd have been smokin' pot instead of drinking alcohol, they would have been laughing over a serious case of the munchies.

As much as I like to have the occasional margarita or beer (or three) alcohol generally sucks. Frankly, considering the health and debilitating "next day" and even long-term side effects of alcohol, I'm somewhat amazed that it's legal and pot is not...

Just sayin'

Agree 100%. Johnnyt

I regret my remarks in this thread, and I apologize to both Shane Winters, Robb Saez, and the owners of the venue where this happened. I should not have been judgmental. :frown:

JAM,

When I showed up to the pool hall the next morning, my first instinct was that Robb wasn't the instigator because I was familiar only with Robb being sober. We all make assumptions. Nothing good has ever come of drinking in excess other than missing a flight that crashed the next morning.
