Not sure "patchwork" is the right term, but this Elite production cue is basically what I'm talking about.....

I dont see this cue design often, but I know I like it...any builder known for making these?

I do not share your appreciation.

I think bluegrass cues sometimes come with a checkerboard pattern, much smaller squares though. Those I can take.

I can't find any pictures right now, but at the Expo Tiger Cues had a new line featuring this checkered/patchwork theme.

There was a lady with a similar cue in league the other night. Cue really stood out from across the room. I liked it.

Tiger cues make a similar looking cue.

Check them out.

Plus they have good LD shafts - some say the best - if you're into that sorta thing.

Russ Espiritu made a cue using "scrap" inlays. The pattern of different woods and stains is quite unique. My friend purchased it at the BCAPL national event in Vegas many years ago. Some of you might know him as "Panama Jack".

But it's a smart way to use up scrap wood.

:grin-square: My first thought too. As an amateur woodworker I'm always making stuff from my scraps -- usually gifts. Whenever I make my wife something like a wooden ring box, she always asks "Which project was this left over from?"

Specifically, Tiger's X2 series. I visited the Tiger shop while in LA a few weeks ago and they're fantastic US made cues.

I will never understand why Tiger isn't more popular than they are.
Amazing cues and shafts.
In my opinion infinitely better than OB.
At least I've never had any problems with any of the Tiger cues or shafts.
More than I can say about OB.
