I just wanted to say that the people I dealt with at Schmelke Cues were great. They had my custom cue
shipped to my door within a month and I'm very happy with it. You can't beat their prices...not even China.
If you want to support a great company that's been doing it right for a long time, consider them for your
next cue. I ordered a sneaky pete with a 3/8x10 joint. It compares well to some much more expensive
custom sneakies.

Show a picture. I have 3 Schmelke. All look and play great. They are nice people to deal with. Stand behind everything 100%.

+1

I've got two Schmelke cues and they are first rate. I couldn't believe how inexpensive they were...and I got to choose everything; woods, joint size and material, tip, length, etc.

Here's my maple on maple (can't believe how many comments I get on this cue )

I have a custom Schmelke sneaky pete with a piloted 5/16x18 joint. It plays as good or better than any of the five or six Scruggs sp's I've had.

Philosopher......with no disrespect intended towards either Schmelke nor yourself....you must have had
the worst 5 -6 cues Tim ever produced. The difference between these two is so enormous it's ludicrous.

JMO.....

I stand behind what I wrote.

Again, it's a custom, not a production cue with that weird joint.

How many Scruggs sneaky Petes have you owned?

You know that Tim didn't "produce" most of them himself, right?

Please share the "enormous" differences that make Timmy's sneakys play better than Schmelkes?

Schmelke has been around a long time. I've played with a few of their sneakys over the years and thought they hit well.

I have never owned one, but I have never heard a bad thing about them.

I have heard great things about them.

Thats pretty rare in todays world.

They play very well IMHO.

As far as comparing them with masters such as Scruggs, it usually comes down to the taper I think.

I have three Scruggs shafts. Two I got with a cheap sneaky. I use them with various different cues and they are excellent. An additional one matches my Joss and it is excellent.

That is not to say that a Schmelke could not be excellent as well.

Tips, ferrule material, and more, as well as ones's preferences are always factors as well.

But I don't think anything I am saying here is something you will disagree with.

What might be suspect is when one makes blanket statements such as that which you commented about.

Absolutely...:)

Let's forget about comparing cues. Back to it's the player not the cue. I play the same regardless of what I'm using if it's decent equipment. Buy a Schmelke because you want a great cue at an affordable price.

Magic Cue

God bless the guys that believe in magic cues.

My Magic Cue will not let anyone else make balls with it! JK, everyone has to find "their own" Magic Cue, be it a Schmelke or a Gus, whatever works best for you personally. That goes for Magic Shafts too.

On a whim, I custom ordered a sneaky with a radial pin, 3/4 ferrule, hoppe,
Kamui black tip, and some other specs I can't remember right now got it yesterday, about 3 weeks to make, less than 3 bills, worth every penny ...

Listen, let's kill these Schmelke threads, you got that? How am I supposed to have a decent inventory to choose from when I visit the shop in Rice Lake camping every summer? Just look at this junk that I get stuck with buying from them because you people wipe out the inventory.

Look at their wood selection--it's all gnarly and twisted--who wants to buy this crap? That blank is from last summer--the points are all filled up with knots and twists--these people have no idea how to construct a blank--and then to charge $55 on top of it--they oughta be ashamed of themselves!!!

Nice.

Another thing most people don't know is that the Searing sneaky petes people are throwing around 3k at are almost all made from Schmelke blanks.

Latest Schmekle..... And it plays as good as my other Schmelke's  Will consider trading for a Searing or Gus
