Have you known the butt of a cue 2 slightly warp in transit (through USPS 4 example)?

I should have been more clear. I know it doesn't take a $2k cue to roll straight , I'm just thinking if he ordered a high end cue built to his exact specifications might be the only way he will be happy. And to the " ripoff" comment being thrown around, to the best of my knowledge Jim Baxter has a always had a stellar reputation since I've been here at least. Doubtful he would throw that away for a $300 cue? Lastly; Justin, I don't think it's that no one likes you or anything like that. In life though; in general, people do not like to hear whiners. Not in person , phone, nor internet. That may be the only thing going on here. Also just a little friendly advice, if in fact you are trying to flip cues cool - but you are quickly burning all bridges when you post up these threads trust me. I may ask a lot of stupid questions (and act like a cry baby at times), but at least I have never ripped anyone off on here. At least I do not insult anyone, or troll peoples threads.

You have taken a lot of time and attention from a lot of people. Their patience grows short. Granted they don't have to read and respond but this is a community that is very active and many simply are not passive.

There are so many people doing so many deals yet one of the people doing the fewest deals seems to have the most trouble and require the most attention from the community at large.

To some (many?) that is in fact insulting and feels a lot like trolling. As far as "ripped off" you seem to have been involved in a lot of deals that have gone sour and it looks very bad.

Perhaps to you it is just you speaking up to seek help, but it looks a lot different to the observers. And you are not apparently receptive to help. And you don't seem to learn lessons. Perhaps you feel receptive, but to others it sure does not look that way.

I am a very patient person. I have read all of your posts and have held my tongue a great deal. I would just hate to come off as another person jumping on you because you seem to be struggling on a lot of levels.

My observation is that a lot of people have genuinely tried to help you on many occasions. Frequently it ends up being a lot of drama. You might consider that the one common denominator in all of these threads and events is you.


So I will offer some advice. Chill. Sit back. Be patient. Learn. Try to let the dust settle. Try to let the responses roll in before you respond. And then respond positively even when you don't like what you read. There is simply a tremendous amount of expertise available here and I hate seeing you not benefit by it.

Jim's I trader rating 400 plus transactions with 100 % customer satisfaction is almost impossible.
And as a friend I will say he don't always answer his phone.

I don't why everyone expects perfect condition 2nd hand pool cues, bit its a pipe dream 90% of the time .

Anyone selling cues to someone who is trying to resale the cues is going to be tough business .
Cues need to be as close to perfect as possible and they have to be whole sale or cheaper to make a profit.
This wasn't a collectors cue and I think the cue was bought for resale .not his as a personal player.

That is what Justin is doing, doesn't take a way from he fact that the cue is warped.

Justin is not a factory rep for any cue maker ............
He has no choice but to bottom feed on the cues he can get his hands on because he cannot pre order them , buy wholesale at commercial customers discounted price.


My point is, entering into a business like this , how could Justin or Jim Baxter or any cue flipper not run into issues with cue warping .
Expect it, deal with it in a professional manner, don't air out your dirty laundry.

Anyone wants to be a respectable 2nd hand cue flipper handle business of this nature completely different .

None of us have done over 400 positive AZB transaction with a 100 % customer satisfaction like Jim Baxter has ...........

If I sent a cue out, that I rolled before I shipped I thought the cue was straight when I shipped it, then yes I would ask the customer to hold on to the cue just for a week just for the benefit of maybe Jim did roll the cue before shipping and maybe it really did warp in shipping.

Isn't that allot of positive reputation on Jims part to give up on a 300.00 cue after years of being right on top of his business.
And to be honest doesn't sound logical for any business person with that kind of customer satisfaction rating ...

I am not a cue flipper (at least, not in the way that you are thinking). Yes, I have sold every cue that I have ever had up to this point (other then the Helmstetter that I currently have), but at the time, I purchased the cues to shoot with. If I receive a cue that I do not like, then I resell it. If I become in desperate need of money, then I sell it. It is always one of those 2, but usually the latter. I do not buy cues as a way to try to make money. I do flip laptops though (that is my thing that I like to do, buying broken laptops, repair them, and then sell them). I purchased this cue because I really wanted a cue (as a player), because I did not have one. Who wants to over pay for a cue though? Would you have purchased the cue for $300 in this warped condition? I think not. Jim did not offer me a refund. The only thing that he offered for me was to have me ship the shaft back to him, and he would re work if for me (because I also noted that I did not like the taper of the shaft). It felt pretty clear to me though, that he was unwilling to give me a refund on the cue. I am sorry, to be honest, the only reason I created this thread was to look for opinions on the roll out in the butt. But after some of the nasty replies I received, I felt the need to post that video as proof of the warp in the butt.

Whatever cues have been sent are not up to par ever, and there are allegations of not being honest about the state of the stick.

You are a very funny guy (lol), but to be honest, I was not looking for a warped cue. I would not have purchased it if I knew about this roll out. I asked the seller if there is any roll out in the butt, and he told me that the cue rolls straight.

I may have misunderstood, but it sure looks like you started an entire thread on June 4 expressing interest in buying a warped cue.

Now you have one. Going to be tough to sell. Now you see one reason don't like warped cues, in addition to lack of playability.

Yes I agree with you on all points, except the cue is warped.
I think Jim will take care of this, but he needs time.

I am really very sorry. Now I feel like a really horrible person. I know that I have probably now lost most peoples respect on here, so I am not posting this next line in hopes of winning back any ones respect (or anything else).

I sanded off the finish (using some 1,000 grit sandpaper), and I played for the 1st time with it (in a tournament tonight), after not playing any pool for a long time, and really fell in love with the cue. It hits super nice, and I played better then I have played in a very long time. Not trying to brag, but I won the tournament (around $350, with the Calcutta). It was my 1st time playing in the tournament (and I was an unknown, so they ranked me as a 6), and after I won it, the guy who runs it told me that I could never come back to play in it again (because they do not allow 7's, even though I do not play in any leagues). Anyways, the Helmstetter cue hits super nice in my opinion, and I really love it now.

I am very happy with the cue now (after finding out how it actually hits).

Again, I am not trying to win (or earn) any ones respect on here. Just saying that I really love the cue now, and no longer wish to return it.

I never actually asked Jim for a refund, and I think that I actually told him that I really do love the cue (but was just unhappy after seeing the roll out in the joint area, and thought that I was unhappy with the shaft).

I admit that I am the bad guy in this situation, because I thought that I could get Jim to build me a 2nd shaft for free (due to the roll out in the butt, and because I thought that I was unhappy with the shaft he sent me with the cue).

But after sanding off the finish (this evening), the shaft feels really great.

I honestly believe that either Jim did not know about the warp in the butt (because it really is such a slight and hard to see roll out), or maybe the butt did warp during transit.

I believe that Jim is a good and honest seller (and he is also a very nice person).

He did send me a nice hard 1x1 j&j case (for free) with the cue, after I told him that I just had a cheap tube case for it.

The case he sent me was an upgrade though, because it has a nice shoulder strap (much better then the one on my tube case), and a pouch (which my tube case does not have).

I think it is a great cue, and well worth what I paid for it.

I am happy now, and if there is anything that I can do to fix this mess of a thread that I created, then I will try my best to do it.

I am not sure if any good can be done though at this point.

All that I can say is that I am now very happy with the cue.

I now have myself a great player, that I really also love the looks of.

I really hope that Jim's wife will be okay, and I hope that they both will live a long and happy life.

Hopefully everything will be okay, with Jim and his wife.

I understand that I am done for on this forum (and I understand why most people on here probably hate me), but hopefully I have fixed this mess of a thread.

You are completely wrong about me, but I understand your point of view (after reading all of my past threads).

I imagine that many people are completely different out in the real world, then they are perceived to be on an internet forum. I do not know about others, but I know (I think that I know) that I am a much better person then many on here might perceive me to be. Yes, I have a lot of issues, but I do not think you would be able to tell (from meeting me and talking to me), if you did not know who I was (from the forum). I do not know. Just some thoughts.

You guys may think what you want about me though (it really does not matter). Well, it actually does matter to me, because I do not want to be hated or disliked by anyone. Yeah, it was at Gilberts (very nice place, and really good food). A really good band was playing during the tournament (they sounded great). The guy who runs it told me that I can't come back and play in it again (because I do not have an APA ranking). I asked him why he did not allow 7's to play, and I guess it is because the 7's (and maybe the higher ranked players) were winning it too often. A few of their 6's played pretty good though, I thought. This one guy made 2 super strong kick shots on me (after I played safe). After talking with him a few times during the tournament, I got the feeling that he wanted the lower ranked players to have the best chance at winning.
