New Joss Cue & Conversation

Yep, radial joint pin, plastic joint, done by about a thousand or so cuemakers today. What I said was that I haven't seen the old 3/8 pin with flat face ivory joint by Joss in recent times. And I still haven't. You have to go back in time a bit.

All the best,
WW

It does make me curious to know.

I might not get that new Joss Cue on Wednesday after all. I think I have appendicitis. Lower right abdominal pain for three days now. If its not cleared up by tomorrow I am heading to the ER. At least appendicitis is my diagnosis.

I wouldn't wait.

I thought Mike already ordered the cue(?) so I don't know if it means he might not be available specifically when the cue arrives in the mail (or via UPS) or if, perhaps due to a high insurance deductible or copay purchasing a cue from Joss is no longer in his budget.

M I K E if there's a Health Insurance issue, PM me and I'll give you my cell. I have a 3rd degree black belt in dealing with them & over 15 years experience. -Z-

I am about to head to the hospital ER. What I meant was that if I get admitted and have to stay a few days I might miss delivery of the Joss Cue because I have to sign for it.

I had appendicitis and had my appendix removed. I think if you have the pain for three days it's something else as in your appendix would have ruptured by then. Plus the pain in general is a bit much to deal with for days.

Whatever it is, get well.

Just got back from the ER. Blood sample fine. Urine sample fine. CAT scan all negative. Pain of unknown cause. Wasnt appendicitis, hernia, or kidney stone. They gave me a prescription for pain pills and sent me home. Said if it gets worse or doesn't eventually go away to come back.

Create a UPS account online, then you can sign the release slip before the cue arrives if you cannot be there. I recently did this for a Joss that I had Dan make for my sons graduation.

DrCue'sProtege.....any chance this could be a stone.....Kidney? Gall Bladder?
Either one starts as discomfort, then changes to pain and remains until resolved.

The ER probably considered those possibilities and a whole bunch of other stuff but
continued pain is not normal so you need to see a Internal Medicine Dr or Urologist.
I don't want to alarm you but you need to see one tomorrow if this doesn't improve.

And do not rely upon the pain meds for anything else other than relief and comfort.
Simply because you don't feel as much pain because of neurological pain blockage
is not the same as actually feeling better, i.e., improving. See a doctor and find out.

Wishing you a speedy recovery,

Matt B.

I agree with Matt you need to get to a good doctor if this has been going on for days.

When I read ur first post I figured it was pancreatitis. I've had this twice first at 15 again at 22. Both times I went to er within 24 hours of the pain starting because it's the most unbearable pain I know of. From this experience I know the appendix is on the left n lower right pain is exactly the symptom from pancreatitis. Since u already went to the hospital and were released I doubt u have it because I averaged 5-7 days both times and they know within the first 4 hours because I tested high for levels of something I forget the word but anyway hope u get better and I know all about the lower right pain it's literally brought me to my knees so use the medicine as needed and don't be afraid to go back to the er if u feel the need.

The appendix is in the lower right. The pancreas is upper middle/left. I promise.

Symptoms can vary and location of pain can vary, your experience can be different from another. We refer to such presentations as "atypical".

You likely had high amylase & lipase. Ring a bell?

There are numerous things it can be that have not been mentioned and that might not be seen with standard blood tests, x-ray, and CT.

Anyway, I am surprised they didn't find anything with such significant pain. He should definitely seek further help if it isn't resolving.

Appendicitis is out patient surgery these days. I was in for 3 days back when I had mine removed but that was about 25 years ago. Now they suck it out through your belly button and you are home the same day.

I know that sounds like bullshit, but it's not. Friend of mine had his removed 5 years ago and that's how they did it.

Regardless, glad it's not appendicitis. Get well.

Indeed it is a quicker recovery than it used to be.

But don't be fooled, respect appendicitis. The death rate from it is nearly one per day even still, I think around 330 per year. The older you are the less likely it is, but the more complicated and risky if you do get it.

Just checked the tracking number. Its arrived in Indianapolis and will be delivered tomorrow.

Happy days are here again!

Just arrived about 45 minutes ago. Just as I was about to eat supper. The UPS guy was running late today.

Going to go and hit some with it now.

I hope you enjoy the cue.......and stay healthy.

Is this a cue, or a newborn child? Holy crap...:scratchhead:

Enjoy whichever it may be...

I'll look for it on the evening news.

With regards to the lower right abdominal pain, it seems to be much better. I sat on the couch watching ballgames from 1:00 to 5:30 today, waiting on the UPS guy to pull in my lane without much pain and discomfort. Hopefully this is about to pass.

Anyway, I played some with the cue and Joss Cues get a big thumbs up from me! Nice hit, feel, feedback, this cue is a winner! Here's a couple of pics. They don't do the cue justice, trust me.

Very pretty cue. Glad you are happy, and feeling a little better. I am quite pleased with my Joss
