$2000 Bank Bend Challenge

Cleary's shot was pretty damn good.

Not even sure why anyone is even discussing it at this point.

If that doesn't get the $2000 then the challenge is bogus.

Yes. The distance from roll to reinforcer is about 1". Under the roll was another reinforcer, the distance between the two was a pool balls width. The object ball bent wel past the 2nd reinforcer. Its obvious that I surpassed what you felt was possible and therefore win.

The rules for the contest are pretty clear about what that measurement has to be to get the $2000. Maybe everyone has to re-read the instructions.

If you are willing to try it again next week, I'd like to watch. I'll be in NYC all week.

Like I said, I knew you guys wouldn't pay. I said it the first week you posted this. Just wasting anyone's time who tries it by not picking you way out. Very pool player of you.

Unless I have missed it, you have refused to unequivocally confirm that there was no editing or special effects involved in this video. Will you do so now?

The real point here is can anybody prove it didn't happen? I saw it bend into the pocket. He met the criteria and nobody can say it didn't happen.

Best,
Mike

God damn do I need to spell it out for you? Want me to draw you a picture???

No special effects. Just a fat dude with some regular old pool balls wasting his time proving science wrong.

The burden of proof doesn't fall on Cleary.

They wanted a video and he obviously provided one.

It's up to them to either pay or prove it violated the rules.

This is so strikingly similar to the NPR threads that I'm normally a part of that it's not even funny.

Also, awesome shot, Cleary.

Could land a jumbo jet in there...

It's hilarious. My tube was placed in a position that made the shot waaaayyyyy harder than it needed to be and I still did it... but Bob says I didn't do it. That's just amazing.

Bob, I totally understand you and Dr. Dave being very skeptical of the shot. It truly is an amazing shot. One that none of us thought was possible, and many still don't think is possible after seeing it.

While very true that Cleary did NOT meet all the requirements of the instructions, I believe the intent of the instructions was to prevent someone cheating on it. Cleary's video clearly shows the ball bending far more than what the meaurement actually stated. As the ob was clearly well past the doughnut measured from.

You and Dr. Dave have done MUCH for the pool world. Since you were willing to pay for a fully legit video (meaning followed all the rules to the letter), and Cleary's video clearly shows that the ball can be bent quite a ways, and no one else has even come close to bending it as much as he has, I think it would be in your best interest to declare him the winner (at least so far, as it isn't over yet) and then get with him to try and duplicate it so there can be some understanding of how it was done. (talk about a run on sentence!) I don't believe it is worth your reputations to hem and haw about his video and not pay on it. And, being a stickler on the the exact wording of the rules after viewing the video would only be viewed as nitpicky and never wanting to pay to start with. I don't believe that is the position either of you want to be in.

Now that we all have seen it can be done, get with him to keep attempting it and see if you can figure out what just happened.

This is spot on. I offered them to come to my house when they're in town but now I'd rather just not even speak to them. They've proved they never intended to pay... Whatever.

Done with this thread and these two jokers. Taking the video down... get out your bunsen burners and calculators and think of more ways you can waste everyones time. They clearly never intended to pay.

If they want to make it right, show me the proof they donated to one of the two charities I mentioned.

What would make this more entertaining is if dr Dave posts a photo of a supposed donation and we debate whether the photo is doctored.

What does cleary have against dr dave for him to troll this thread for this long,
then even go so far out of the way to make a bogus video
with such blatant trickery all while questioning dr daves character
over what seems to me to be a tough but legitimate challenge.
I just dont get it..
