There's absolutely no reason a female 700 would be worse than a male 700. Enough women play men that there are plenty of opportunities to ensure the consistency between the groups. Mike has shown examples where women like Karen Corr play the men and the win-loss records are as predicted. And here's the thing about FargoRate - if the results don't come out as expected, the numbers are adjusted so that they do.
I correct myself. It is not that you don't want to understand, you do not have the ability to understand.

I watched the video..........AGAIN. This was posted I believe by Mike months ago, and I had watched it then too. I just disagree, much like I disagree with the bar box thing. Once again, I am not referring to the handful of woman at the top, the ones that routinely play in the open events. I'm pretty sure there are not that many woman that play in the open events with the men all that often. The majority of women play only in he women's only events, and for that very reason is why I believe the ratings to be skewed. I do understand that when the few women that routinely play against the men play against the other women those stats are factored into the rankings, but being that those matches are not weighted any differently than any other matches, the total number of those matches are only a tiny fraction of the overall data collected hence they can only contribute a limited amount of " good " data. I will say that the longer data is collected and as more women play against the men the rankings will become more " true " but I do not think we are there as of yet and will not be for quite some time. I do completely understand the basic premise of Fargo and I believe for men's and women's ranking to be 100% accurate more data needs to be collected over a longer period of time. Just using Karen Corr as an example since she does have so much exposure playing the men : I would buy this as being correct IF something like this were to take place - if KC were to play 10 matches with each and every woman while at the same time NONE of the woman played each other nor anyone else. I don't think I can go any further with this because truth is I really don't care too much about it.
I think some of us are all over the place with this little argument. Let's get back on track with the post that originally started all of this.
Now Siming Cheng is a great player and I'm sure her rating of 770 is well deserved. But I have to disagree 100% that she would do as well as her male counterparts with the same or better rating in the World 9 Ball event or any open event with top male professionals.

Fargo Rate aside.
A top female player does not have as good of a chance as a top male player to make a deep run in an open event that is full of top male players.
To be fair, FargoRate says Alex is the #8 player in the world and Siming is about the #70 player in the world. There IS a clear favorite in this match.
I don't even post on here that often anymore, but as a Data Scientist for a Fortune 50 company, you guys make me laugh at your arguments over something like the predictive model Fargo rate is created from.

i've met Rubilen Amit a lot of times in the place where I play. she's really good - seen her beat a lot of male players there. she doesnt play for money though. she's a 2-time world champion, yes. but i dont think she will beat, say Dennis Orcollo or Lee Vann or Carlo Biado in a race to 30. very little chance she'd beat them.
She has no chance. She will need the 7-out .
Wouldn't have a prayer with the seven out.
See, this is along the lines of what I was trying to get at.
I'm sure that's right, but she's rated way below them. Even the lowest ranked Pinoy in the top 100 in the world, Demosthenes Pulpul, is over 20 points higher than her.
What spot would she need to play him or Joven Bustamante?
Perhaps Mike Page can supply the names of some male Pinoys with equivalent ratings to her.
How about Rubelin vs. tony Robles or Joey Gray or Alex Olinger ???
Rubelin is good, Siming is better. None of the three above have to like it playing a tournament match with her! JMHO of course.
