Have you finally found the perfect cue?

after all this time buying, selling, trading, buying back, have you finally found the perfect cue.?

Finally yes. Diveney cocobolo plain Jane with g10 radial pin, micarta joint, Lakewood shaft and micarta ferrule.

I recently (2013) had a custom made. I spent weeks looking at different woods, designs, points, inlays, etc. had the cue a little thinner diameter than normal (stubby fingers) 95% of the cue was all me while the other 5% was cue makers professional input. I love the cue, but I loved the process and the freedom of design even more! Perfect cue maybe/maybe not but I'm probably gonna make another one!

I picked up my Wes Hunter (Hunter Classic) in 2006 from Bill at Cornerstone. He let me stay and try every cue I wanted to hit. I must have been there for 3 hours, finally I picked the Hunter and I have played with it ever since. I have bought and sold at least 40 cues since then and nothing fits and feels better then the Hunter. So I guess you could say I found the perfect cue for me. And I want to
thank Cornerstone Billiards for hanging in there with me.

Kinda

Old Dufferin green label, butt heavy and a couple of shaft dents about four inches above the loose ferrule. I just beat the seven ball ghost with it....oh yes I almost forgot the shaft has a little warp.

I take on the SBG a couple of short races every night and use a different cue, tonight it was the old Duffs turn.

Well for the moment I have but I find cues like my woman when I find the one I like it feels real good but that wears out over time , yet there is always one I still go back to like a old flame ,, reminds me of what a guy told me yrs ago show me the best looking woman and I'll find you the guy who got tired of it ,,
I have that one cue I go back to but I'm always looking at something else as it's replacement then back to the closet it goes

Yes and no

I do like to try new cues and doubt that will ever change but I do end up back with my Gilbert.

i have always liked certain cues and not liked others

i like south west cues hit the best ,but i tend to sell them

lately i have been ordering cues from Bob Owen,Jerry rauenzahn,Bob Runde and
to be honest all of them are as close to perfect as you can get

i love the looks and the play

i can pick up either one and play my best

now my best is not really great pool, but with these cues it is way better
than the cues i don't like

funny thing i had a gus and barry and i liked the play on both of them too

the gus was 59inches,21 ounces nd i really liked the play

the heavy cue seemed easier to control and hit with speed

i am not saying the cue doesn't matter,it does,i am just saying that
i have several that i love to play with

i think it helps that i am trying not to hit much english, side causes me too much touble

I'm always thinking about buying another but then I think about the bit*hing from my wife I will get. For now, I am very happy with the Phillippi cue with snakewood points and ivory butt/joint/inlays.

Honestly, the best thing about the cue was the Onyx tip that I changed out... the cue was near perfect until I had that tip... now it is even nearer perfect. Of course I am sure there is a cue that is even more nearer nearer perfect! Just don't tell her!

I got my perfect cue from JoeyInCali (Bautista). While at his shop I have hit with quite a few of his cues and would have gladly taken any one of them home. Consistent. So much so I have a Brazilian Rosewood on order. I haven't had near as many cues as many on here but I have stopped looking for anymore cues.

I don't think there is such a thing as a perfect cue.
I have had some really nice cues both production and custom and after a while I always switch to something else, not because it' better, but because I get bored and want change. I played with WX900 shafts for three years and thing it's a great shaft, but found that I pocketed more balls by switching to a shaft with slightly bigger tip diameter.
I now play with the EX Pro shaft and play very well with that shaft, but I still bought a Bob Danielsson cue a few days ago as I'm curious as to how his cues hit.
Since I also repair cues and now is in the process of making my own cues, I have a million things I want to try out that regular player never even think of.
First order of business is to bulid myself a new break cue. It's gonna be about 19oz, stepped purpleheart core, narrah handle and cocobolo or katalox forearm and buttpiece. Juma buttcap and joint collar, wavy SS pin and a stiff tapered grad AA maple shaft with short G10 capped ferrule and Taom tip.
