Chasing MC Points

I have a hunch that not many top U.S. players are going to jump through hoops chasing MC points, when they are 10% favorite too win the cup in Vegas. Ten K is not worth it to most of them. Maybe if we had ALL of North America on our side. Johnnyt

Man, Johnny, what a thread! :grin-square:

Of course, any player on the face of the American soil would feel honored to be a member of Team USA. I'm not sure where your opinion is coming from, but I guess it's okay to express it. I kind of disagree, though. :)

$10,000 is not worth it to them?

You mean, $10,000 is not worth it to him (Shane), right?

Because I sincerely doubt the rest of the US players would scoff at $10,000. Nor would Shane, in all honesty.

It depends how much it cost them chasing those points. I they have to travel too far to get those points very many times, they could make the team and only a profit a few K. Johnnyt

Current Turning Stone has MC points----No Justin or Skyler.
Darrens 8Ball has MC points----Last time I checked entries there was no Justin or Skyler (but that could of changed now).
So are they not chasing the points or were they already committed elsewhere before Matchroom made their announce about what events would carry points?

Aren't the MC events some of the highest purse events as well? Even if they don't care to play in MC I'm sure they want the cash

I just looked on matchroom sports mosconi cup page and didn't find a list of tournaments that include mosconi points for 2017. Do you know where I can find them?

Like last year, Justin and Sky will attempt to earn most of their MC points at the barbox tourneys. It's a formula that paid off for them in 2016, so why change this year.

JAM...It's where most of johnnyt's negative opinions come from...out of his anus. I disagree as well.

Of course the players want on th team and guaranteed 10 k. I think what he means is (as is apparent this week) spending about 2k per event to travel to,entry ,feeaccomidations,etc... Cuts into that 10k at the end of the year IF you even make the team.( something else that is a REAL factor in deciding your schedule ) is do you want to pay the room rate and food at a casino property and how much will you lose in the casino. I know some of you are gonna say"well just don,t gamble" but that isn,t realistic for most people in the pool world. Trust me ,the amounts of money left behind at the derby since they moved to the horseshoe is staggering(we all still go but it certainly way more expensive than the executive west days) when it was the best tournament in the world.(probably still is,all things considered lol)

You will never get to be MC captain talking like that. I don't know who you THINK you are...maybe you are what comes out of my anus. If you talk to people face to face like that, you must spend a lot of time on the floor. Johnnyt

Thank you...that was my point. Johnnyt

On the Turning Stone stream, someone said he had heard that no events on 7-footers will provide Mosconi Cup points this year.

[Whether that's true, we'll see.]
