maple shaft

Gulyassy

Mike Gulyassy, hands-down. I've played with his SPTX shaft for almost 5 years now, phenomenal...I recently purchased his playing cue off him with two new SPT shafts. Best hitting solid maple shafts I've EVER hit with. He's a genius with a lathe....

Keith Josey's maple shafts have a great hit, feel, and sound. His basic cues are pretty affordable as well.

The old McDermott D series maple shafts play nicely as well, nice long taper but still hit nice and stiff, I get the best force follow with inside from these shafts. I also left one in the trunk of a car that got flooded with water and the shaft got all swollen and wonky, years later it came back to perfectly straight, a true testament to the quality of wood they used back then imo.

Rick Howard.

I really like his shaft taper and quality of work. His prices are super, and he is honest as day is long.

There are some BIG names that make shafts, but for the value, its hard to beat Rick Howard.

I have always heard much of the same about Paul Dayton. I have always wanted to test drive one of his cues.

When you do, you will not be disappointed. I have one with two shafts. Great cue.

The man knows his wood.
