Ronnie OSullivans American Hustle Season 1 Episode 1 on Youtube

I'll summarize his answer:

"No"
Ok first off it, if anyone believes Ronnie is a novice to hustleing I got swamp land for sale , hustling in snooker is no different there than it is here or anywhere else for that matter
I lived in Toronto suburbs for yrs it's no different than here just different game there's guys doing the same thing looking for a game and working it
However it is pool on tv that's a good thing and it's a fun watch for pool players will it bring in pool players well maybe a few but it's better than nothing

I enjoyed it. Cool show. Of course it is 'reality' tv. Like Ronnie could go anywhere and try to hustle pool. Even if someone didn't know who he was.....the accent, tv cameras, and a Google search might make it pretty hard to remain unknown....since he is the best snooker player in the world.

Jesus, now the Brits are even making better TV shows about pool than us.

I hear they're trying to get Christopher Nolan to come over and direct a new season of The Hustlers

I think this could show well in North America the way it's presented. Just needs a 30 second intro to Ronnie and his career.[/QUOTE said:
Thats a really excellent point. When he tried to hustle the older man in the pool room who was later told that Ronnie won 5 world snooker titles, he not only hadn't heard of Ronnie but the significance of the feat didn't seem to register with him.

That was really enjoyable.

I think he could get action in the states...but I don't think his rotation/ 1p games hold up against the better players he'd run into.

I loved it. Any chance we'll be able to watch future episodes on youtube?

Lucky Brits..they can tune in on Thursday nights...

Generally, a few hours after big snooker matches, we can watch them in hd on utube at no cost. And generally, there are two choices, one set of announcers are the old guys (retired world champions) and the other younger, tv types. Imagine the nfl playoffs with staubach and bradshaw as announcers. Or maybe a nba game called by michael jordan and let's say charles barkley or alonzo mourning.

Really he beat Earl in the MC and obviously that ain't his game I highly doubt if he put his nose the grindstone playing 9 or 10 ball there would be a long line to play him and one thing is for sure no body would be in a line to play him in snooker

I noticed that too, lol. You might as well have told him that he was a champion at that cup stacking game those kids play. "Oh well that's nice, good for him".

This was the first of 4 episodes they recorded. I'm sure the rest will be on youtube as they air.

yep I doubt they would be lining up, Steve Davis and Tony Drago both played at world class and they were primarily snooker players. Almost all of the top UK players have a snooker background and many were professionals previously, Darryl Peach, Melling etc.. It wouldn't take Ronnie that long to get up there with the best if he gave pool the right dedication.

I've just recently started watching snooker...and I'm pretty sure I picked the right player to focus on to start...at least for me. I've been watching Ronnie's 147s. When he hits "that" gear, I just stare in amazement.

I loved watching this! Thanks for posting the link. I do hope in future episodes they show a bit more pool...Not griping...just hoping. :)
