Shaw

Heard that as well, but later heard they went back to the video and deemed that Shaw didn't instigate the fight (or whatever happened).

Heard that he just over slept for his morning 9 ball match, was put on the clock, then forfeited out of the tournament.

There is bound to be some truth in one of these rumors...lol

do you really think posting a FB page about being sexually assaulted is worse than the assault itself? Really?

Yeah... he really said that...

I think some people owe Bill Cosby some apologies!

Same thing happend to poor MJ, let the man molest little boys in peace but noooo, people have to get all judgey.

My understanding was that he was kicked out of the tournament and barred for life from the horseshoe property...this was just what i was told by a friend that was there.
As I stated the "barring for life" was early hear say so i dont know as i wasn't there this weekend...( I was there for banks where Shaw beat me in the second round and was a complete gentleman). I also saw on FB that Scott Frost posted that last night there was a lot of fights upstairs and other drama, but again that is FB so take it for what its worth but the action room late at night is always a powder keg ready to blow...just add liquor

is der any chance dat he was trying to defend himself by punching da opponent in da groinal region and dint close his fist cause he forgot or sumpin

this is a perfect point/counterpoint to the fans? who questioned why John Morra stepped aside. AND, why someone like Landon Shuffett chose school and reality over trivial things. BUT, continue to lionize the alcoholics/ substance abusers with their amazing SKILL. lol
As our fearless leader would say.........sad

Good grief guys!

Just when so many had him walking on water, is he is starting to sink?

So why did Shaw forfeit his 9b match?? Even with a 1 loss, I think he would've still been a favorite for a top 3 finish.

Did he forfeit his straight pool match also?? He was in the semi's.

Just played Friday in the the banks ring match.

I overheard a conversation that he had with a few other players, and he was saying the his cell phone alarm did not go off (so I assume that he over slept, and that is why they forfeited him). By the way, his case looks awesome. Loved the looks of his case.

Yeah, I seem him today, and overheard him talking to another player (saying that the alarm on his phone did not go off, and that is why he missed his match).

Did you get the scoop from Hillbilly on Mireles cues?

Charlie Bryant? I did not notice him there, but I would not have been able to speak to him, or ask him anything (about the Mireles cue) anyways. I talked to very few people while I was there. Was too shy to try to speak to any of the pro's. I did talk to Joe Blackburn about my cue though, and he was really nice. He fixed my tip up (did not replace it, but shaped it up really good for me), and he put some type of wax (I think) on the joint pin, so that the shaft that was so hard to screw together, is no longer difficult to screw together (and it now screws together just as smooth as the other shaft). He did all of that free of charge. Joe Blackburn is a super cool guy, and very nice. Surprisingly, he remembered me from the last time he did a tip replacement for me (around 5 years ago).

Yeah, that's all great and all, but back to the point -- did anybody grab your junk?

I've said it on here before that I don't like Shaw. I met him in NC a few years back and he was an arrogant ass. Super talented and super arrogant. And I don't hate on talent. The only other pro I've met is Josh Roberts and I root for him every time..super cool person, down to earth. I have to say I really enjoyed reading this thread:thumbup:

I think that it was Josh Roberts that Shaw was chatting with about his cell phone alarm not waking him up (I think he said that he forgot to plug it in, so maybe the battery died). There are many very arrogant pool players out there. One player who comes to mind is Chip Compton. I might be wrong, but he always seemed very arrogant to me. I imagine there are many other pool players just like that. Is it really that uncommon among pool players? Many have a very big head.

I don't know, but it sure is an awfully big coincidence that these alarm issues always tend to happen after a hard night of drinking.

Other way around, had to make that cab fare. 😃

Hey yall realize Justin is our inside man at the Derby this year!

I'm sorry to read about Shaw's behavior at the Derby. The British culture may be a little different than American culture, i.e., grabbing the crotch. I've seen it happen in movies before, and it was just a dominance move, like one male dog humping another male dog. :embarrassed2:

I know firsthand what alcohol can do to one's personality. Some can still shoot well on alcohol, and others fold like a lawn chair.

Personally, I have always liked the pool rooms that served no alcohol. The atmosphere is more pool-centric. When you add alcohol to the mix, especially with gambling, it doesn't blend well sometimes.

Shaw is a young buck and still finding his way. He's had major life-changing happenings in his life, and I hope he learns to balance his work life (pool) with his home life (family).

In the end, pool is cool and all that, but it isn't very good to someone when they grow old alone and can't run a rack anymore. You find out who your friends really are.

Wishing Jayson Shaw the best, poor guy.
