Anyone seen Dechaine?

Mike has officially retired from professional pool, straight from his mouth.

At 29 years of age, it may be the best thing he's ever done for his future. He is still young and can excel in another endeavor if he so chooses.

Of course, Mike can always enjoy pool on the side, if he likes, and play part-time.

There are no benefits to playing pool unless you're in the top echelon of players around the world. It's not easy to win, place, or show every time you compete in order to break even. If you do win an event, you're so stuck financially from those you did not do well in.

I wish him the best and hope he can find his niche. 29 years old, he's a youngster in my book.

If he's officially retired maybe he can be in PR. Lol

It's true. Don't you think it's odd you haven't seen him at all? No derby.

And honestly, everyone on here can talk all the smack they want about him but bottom line, he wanted to win and is probably still currently in the top 5 for US pool players.

Absolutely JAM. Couldn't agree more.

He'd rob his friends if he knew he'd get away with it. He can stay as far away from pool as he wants and I'll be happy.

He had issues with Shane/Shaw/And mike zuglan.zuglan kicked him off the tour for threatening him.so long story short he's in Maine now and there's not a big pool scene in Maine.

Mike Dechaine has been to my room three times to play in my Spring Pro Event. There has been no problem with him here. Mike has always been a gentleman at Gold Crown Billiards, Erie PA. As a matter of fact, my clientele and other players have enjoyed his visit.

Last I heard, he volunteered to submit himself to scientifical research. Scientists all over the world are trying to figure out if there is any direct correlation between the mass of one's head and brain capacity.

I have no personal antipathy toward Mike Dechaine as he's always been on best behavior when I've seen him play. What I do have a problem with is ANYBODY wanting to be a professional pool player since working at Jack in the Box (taking from a previous posting) would likely make you more money.

I'm delighted that John Morra and Mike have decided to make better use of their youth. There's nothing here in this game for them so why not try something else.

using that logic, Shane should retire too?

Yes, using that logic alone.
Add in the personal and you have some people who get up after falling and come back for more.
I know I do......hehehehe......
People do it for the love of the game is all.
