Sign of the cross

We see it in baseball.
The time when the St. Christopher gets a kiss and the batter crosses himself. Ever see them do that when a deep fly ball is away ?
Better question is do you see pool players do it before breaking or when shooting the money ball ?

I would do it before a safety if I were Catolico.

I've never seen it in a pool hall though I have prayed to the pool gods on many occasions.

"And the people all said, sit down. Sit down your rocking the boat."

pool players know that no one up stairs is going to help them make a shot.

God: "Hey Jesus, who do you want to win between Dennis and Scott?"

Jesus: "I hope they both lose."

God: :killingme:

Jesus: :groucho:

I should mention that I'm Catholic

I was playing Adam Smith (think he's from Michigan?) many years ago in Champion Billiards in Arlington Va. He didn't do it every shot but did sign often. Not that it bothered me but to be honest I was playing with someone else's cue and betting significant sums had to pull up with all the differences going' on

Really think it's okay if anyone wanted to continue with the sign of the cross but it would be personal preference

Haven't seen it since ...

I watched Adam play in a few tournaments and he did it every time he broke.

We were playing One Pocket so breaking less, they were playing 9ball maybe?

I can't recall specifically when he did it but it was not infrequent - let me put it that way

Have to admit I was putting pressure on him. Maybe crucial shots? I can't remember.

At the time I was playing regularly and hittin' 'em good. He needed the help :)

It was at the USBTC in Reno. Definitely not one pocket.
