Is it because you're aiming to play better checkers that you posted in this forum? You'd get more input if the thread was posted in the general or off topic forum. Maybe Mr. Wilson will move it for you.
No it's because I know there are some enthusiasts in this forum. It all ties in with aiming, trust me.
Checkers is thoroughly misunderstood by most. I get tired of the phrase, "He's playing checkers while So and so is playing chess."
Most don't realize that one can become a chess master in about 2-4 years with 8 hour days of work.
Checkers is another story......It would take 10 years with 8-10 hours a day of work to become a master at checkers.

Well I just knew you were another checkers expert! I got the Bristol Cross stuff from Low500. He's also a retired schoolteacher and is a checkers expert. He's also a HUGE fan of yours (thinks you are brilliant) and hasn't stopped talking about CTE, which only took him 1 week to learn. You might consider responding to some of his posts because while he's been idolizing you, you've ignored every post he's made. I have a lot more observations, but I'll let Low500 chime in on his own behalf, if he chooses. I'm still curious what the Bristol Cross and Ayershire Lassie are. Low500, care to share?
Man, I just knew you had brains! You are incorrect! I am no expert at checkers but was around it for a good portion of my life.
My father authored 3 books on Checkers:
America's Best Checkers
The Tinsley Way
World Class Checkers
I spent time with the best players that ever lived...Tinsley and Lafferty and many others.
Don Lafferty was as solid pool player to boot.
You can search Robert L. Shuffett if you need more. He won numerous state events and was nationally ranked.

Mr. Shuffett, just use the ignore feature like I do.Dan,
You are nothing more than a smart a......!

Dan,
You are nothing more than a smart a......!

Actually I did see the webpage dedicated to your father, and the checkers connection. BTW, you father seemed like an incredibly accomplished individual and a patriot. I mean that. I never knew there was a real checkers "profession" and found it genuinely interesting. I should have known as most people have no idea there is professional pool, either!
But, c'mon Stan. This Low500 stuff is silly.
Dan, Last chance.
Period
OK, OK. I'll let it go.
Please......Yeah, let's all tone it down on here. I have caught nothing but hell from the jokers and clowns because I posted the charity drive for RKC in a few different spots so more would see it. I find I need support and can not defend myself against them when they gang up in packs like that.
Let's just say; "to each their own" and let it go. I know Stan is trying his hardest to let the pool community in on something he knows is great and Low500 is a dedicated believer and supporter.
I can see why so many talented people with valuable opinions have left AZB.
Please......
I don't want to be drawn into any of those arguments.
The ignore feature works good and so does the report space.
Leave my name out. I just like to shoot pool and make simple opinions here and there.
Nothing more.
What is the 'charity drive for RKC'...?
Stan, now that you two retired schoolteacher -- checkers expert -- CTE loving -- Poolology hating individuals have been introduced, let me recap the wonderful things Low500 has been saying about you and CTE after learning it in 1 week. You must have missed these posts because you never thanked or acknowledged Low500 in any way, ever, so here's your chance to make up for that:

As far as Poolology goes, "hate" is a strong word, but maybe fitting even so. Stan, if you recall, you entered my Poolology thread, which had nothing to do with CTE. Your only post was to announce that you were leaving the forum:

Luckily for you, Low500 had recently opened an account on AZ and started his hateful speech (which he said he was against) against both Poolology and Brian personally. Just as you bowed out and haven't posted in three weeks, this guy Low500 has been taking up a cause against Poolology. A few examples:

I thought you guys should be acquainted after all the hard work Low500 has done to promote CTE and Stan and simultaneously disparage Poolology and Brian. How did you ever miss this guy, Stan? He's your most vocal supporter. He learned CTE in one week and knows everything about Poolology without seeing any instructional material. He's a keeper!

The amount of time and effort it took to meticulously wade through each and every one of the threads/posts above is absolutely mind numbing.
