Tony Vs Dennis Chit Chat Thread

I just meant nobody should need an update with it being free. If they can look here, surely they can view it.

And true, if we weren't jabbing at eachother this would be fairly boring today.
Jason

I have self diagnosed ADD. I'm watching the match, a series on Netflix, a speed run from SGDQ, and posting here.

monotony

It's become a game of how long you can watch DO get down, get up, get down, get up, walk around the table, get down, get up, get down, stroke a few times, get up, walk around the table, get down, get up, chalk the cue, look at the table again, get down, get up.....grab the chalk...

I actually agree with Dennis that the table rolled off...theres no way on earth he mishits that ball to give Tony the run out to get to 19. That was a slow speed precision shot that went way left. With that said he's playing like shit

With a 2 minute shot clock Dennis would be toast. He's on his way to being toasted now. Lots of games to go but even his nuthuggers would have to admit he doesn't have the best of it from here. Not saying he can't pull it off but he is very much the underdog now.

chance

I have to say that as much as I don't like DO's slow play, I'm not liking the aggressiveness of Tony's offense; it is the thing that could get DO right back into this match.....

yep

It's almost like he wants to let him back in, the way he's playing.....no safeties, just go for it.....

Tony up 19-14 now, can't close out the session. He's lost four games in a row twice today.

We'll see

Tony had him down 19-10; then he lets him back in to win 4 in a row....maybe that's just Tony's style, aggressive and reckless, but we'll see what happens tomorrow...

Dennis got a few games when he played to keep Tony somewhat on the defensive. But when Dennis tried to do things with the stack like Tony does he sells out. Tony does things with the stack that not many can do. Dennis needs to play Tony tighter and wait for his chances without trying to get flashy. When Dennis played Scott, Scott missed some banks that Tony absolutely will not miss.

It's really painful to watch a pro pool player, even a top caliber offensive one, struggle even during obvious offensive innings. There's something in his psyche there that just needs to be addressed. I know he's been doing well, but I just can't imagine that pace and thinking style will produce his best one pocket long term.

These guys both destroy all normal humans.

Tony right now is using his skills to make Dennis fight harder than he is used to.

Just know that these two are in the top 5 in the world in one pocket. You won't find many people in the world who want to play these guys for big money.

I respect both of you guys, and I play pretty good too.

My thoughts on Jay's commentary.

Watching One Pocket isn't something that most average or below average pool players would have any interest in.

Jay is talking like the audience has never even watched a game of 8 ball before (In other words, no knowledge of pool at all).

Mute or no volume is the way to watch this match.

5 guys I'd take over Dennis in a long set of 1P

Alex
Shane
Danny Smith
Justin Hall
Billy Thorpe

Both players are playing their fair share of careless shots. The major difference is that Tony usually knows where the CB is headed, and doesn't sell out as much as Dennis. The second difference is that Dennis isn't taking advantage the times that Tony does sell out a shot.

You've got action on all of them!!! Tony is the ONLY guy I want no part of the bet against(giving games, getting games, whatever)
