Frankie Hernandez stolen cues

If the cues are still stolen, then posting pictures of the cues here may help in recovery, and alert potential buyers/sellers about the theft.

If one of the cues is what I think it is, he could reach out to Laurie at Southwest, notify them of the theft in case it turns up there.

where did they go missing? pics?

They were posted on Facebook & guy is in jail. He was selling the whole 5000 lot of cues & case for 20 on Facebook. Cops only valued the cues at 1000 so it wouldn't be a major felony, but it doesn't look good for him to get the stuff back.

Shit story all around, except the parts where that thief got caught and Frankie got his firewood back.

It looks like you are saying that 5000 cues were for sale and the police only valued them for $1000?? How is this possible??
You also mentioned the number 20, even 20 cues valued at under $1000 sounds cheap.

From what I read on Facebook, Frankie was super upset that the police only valued his cues & case at 1000. The crackhead who stole them had them listed for sale on Facebook for $20 total. From the rest of his story, it doesn't appear likely that he will be getting of his cues or case back or any of his sons sports equipment or iPad that was taken also.

Better yet, this is what Frankie posted on Facebook Thursday, I copied & pasted exactly what was there

Well here's an update on my cues that were stolen from my truck. Raphael Debreo spotted someone selling my playing cue, my break cue, my extentions, my shafts, my jump cues, my case, all valued about $5000 for $20 dollars yes no misprint $20 dollars for everything. Here are pictures of my cues & pictures of the guy selling it. Now let me tell you how the Yonkers Police Department is corrupt. With my iPad & Brandon's baseball equipment total value is $7000 dollars. I idomized everything for the cops taking the report & the cop wrote everything in his memo book & filled out the report a few hours later. In his report he said my IPad that i paid $900 was worth $200 my son's baseball equipment that i paid $500 was worth $200 & all my pool equipment that i paid $5000 for was worth $500. The reason why they do this is anything under $1000 dollars is petty larceny and anything $1000 or more is grand larceny. If someone got assaulted they'll call it harrasment. This is called smudging the number. Now they always wanna say that crime is down so some high ranking cop can get promoted to a higher rank or some elected offical can get elected to a higher post or re elected. So i called the cops out on it telling them there down grading the charges & now the wanna come to my house to talk to me. So they come to my house & they tell me they know who the guy is they know his name. They tell me to message him & tell him that i wanna buy the cues & as soon as i meet with him they will arrest him on the spot. So the cop calls me about 3 times and asked me if he contacted me & i said negative. So the cop than tells me i think he got arrested the very next day after breaking in your truck. The cop knew all along where that guy was. So he tells me last week that the guy has to appear in front of the judge on the 24th for me to call him on the 25. I just got off the phone with the cop an hour ago and he tells me the guy was sentenced to 1 to 3 years for petty larceny & possession of stolen property i told the cop there's no way he would get that much time for those counts unless he has a long rap sheet or he was on parole. So i told the cop i would like the guys name & i wanna know where he's being held that i wanted to go visit him in jail & ask him for my stuff back & he laughed like he thought i was joking & i told him im not joking i want my stuff back & if i don't see him I'll never see my things again & he said i can't do that he can't give me that info but he can shit can my case from a grand larceny to a petty larceny. And had my case been classified as a grand larceny my case goes to the investigation detective unit. As a petty larceny it get's swept under the rug.

Shit story all around, except the parts where that thief got caught and Frankie got his firewood back.

The thief has only been identified but not really "caught," and Frankie definitely didn't get his stuff back I don't think based on what is on his facebook page that I saw.

My understanding, and I could have misunderstood some parts, was that Frankie's cues and case were all stolen from his truck (along with an ipad and some baseball equipment). A few days later people saw the cues and case for sale on a guy's facebook page for $20 for the whole lot of the pool stuff and let Frankie know, who in turn called the police. Police took a report, but estimated the total value of the items at $900, which in Frankie's opinion was done to keep it from being a more serious theft charge (above $1000) which would add to the serious crime statistics for NYC if it were above $1000 and NYC is trying to show a reduction in serious crime, hence their "cooking the books" on what charges they file if they can get away with it so they can make it look like serious crime is down.

The police basically also told Frankie that they can't prove that this guy stole his stuff, or even that he has Frankie's his stuff, or even that the stuff in the pictures is even Frankie's stuff because they don't believe that Frankie can positively ID the stuff from just the photo and so there isn't anything they can do to pursue in anyway until Frankie can get a solid ID on it in person somehow.

Within a day of Frankie filing the report the guy who is the suspect went to court for sentencing on another charge and got a 1 to 3 year sentence and is currently locked up on that unrelated business. The police need to have Frankie be able to ID the stuff in person by either seeing it himself or maybe someone else buying it from the guy and giving it to Frankie to ID before they can pursue it but that isn't looking so likely since the guy will apparently be in jail for a while. Frankie said he was going to contact the guy's friends and family listed on facebook to see if maybe they have access to it and will let him look at the items or something along those lines and that is where things stand at the moment from what I can tell.

Edit: I see that somebody has quoted part of what he said on facebook above while I was typing my post.

If you a
Ready have the guys name , his charges as well as where he is being held is public info so you can get it and go for it. I fell your frustration - hence why I have always preached on here - don't call the cops, take care of it yourself. Some always laugh, some degrade , some- well have no idea what's going on but I will stand by what I've always said - foe this very reason and great example. I will concede that this approach probably ain't for everybpdy.

One correction FH lives in Yonkers-not NYC and it was the Yonkers police. Yonkers is by far the most corrupt place in the Northern Bubs

First if cops need frankie to be able to id his cues well just blow up the picture and look at the wood gain it's kind of like a finger print.

Second- Something doesn't sound right cause if you get arrested and have ur first court appearance you don't get sentenced 1-3years right off.
At most he could of pled gluity (and that's a big if ) on his first appearance and they would give him a date for sentencing. Which would be about a month or more for that guy to wait.

Sounds like that cop knows alot more about them cues.

Thanks for the correction. I knew it was one of the boroughs or nearby towns but couldn't remember which one so I just called it NYC. They're all the same anyway...lol (just kidding, sort of, before somebody throws a fit haha).

Is sucks. And cops suck too, always have. Yes there are gem cops but I'd bet even if you get a cop drunk they'll admit at some point that 90% of cops are no good.

The way I see this, if you leave 5k worth anything in a car, even if you can't see it, you got it coming. Even for 60 seconds. Just don't do that, it's dumb. Frankie just needs to chalk this up to a mistake he made because that's what this is. If he gets anything back he should feel lucky.

I'm guessing you weren't the first guy to think of this and the police didn't think the picture was clear enough or there wasn't any prominent wood grain or other markings or ways to be able to identify them with a picture. Yes, it would be a hell of a coincidence for somebody else to have the exact same package of cues and case selling dirt cheap a few days after your stuff was stolen, but "hell of a coincidences" sometimes happen and they aren't always enough to establish probable cause and they apparently felt a positive ID was required to even be able to establish that these were even Frankie's cues. Kind of makes sense when you think about it because most of us would probably hate it if the cops showed up inquiring about the BK3 that we have listed for sale that looks like every other BK3 out there just because some random guy had one stolen unless they had some other information that would give them good reason to believe that the one we had was the actual one that was stolen.

It sounds like for some reason you are just assuming that this was his first court date because I didn't see that stated anywhere. The guy could have plead guilty, or had a trial and been found guilty, on some previous date and this was just his sentencing date and upon sentencing he was then arrested and remanded into custody to serve his sentence. Also, I think it is in fact possible to be found guilty or plead guilty and have sentencing occur all on the same date in some cases. We don't know enough information to know how it went down but there is nothing at this point that should make us jump to the conclusion that it was his first time in court.

it sucks that happened, Valuing something that you paid does not really equal to the same amount when it comes to replace it. Sentimental value ? priceless, I paid 4200 for my playing cue, if it were ever stolen you think i'm going to get back what i payed for it ? no .

The only way one could recover close to those prices is to have the cue appraised then insured for that amount, and even still you have to deal with deprecation. One more thing Grand larceny in NYC from 500-1000 is a Felony.

Poor Frankie. It's sickening to read. We all know how important a cue is to a professional pool player. It is the tools of their trade, customized tools.

Shame on the Yonkers Police!
