Playing billiards in Korea is why I make cues today. When I was a young GI stationed there, I'd often hit the rooms and gamble with the locals. I had a late 90's era Meucci. It didn't hold up real well playing billiards. The ferrule busted one day so being a machinist, I found a piece of white plastic & replaced it. The cue was totally different, which got my curiosity going & one thing led to another and pretty soon I was making cues.
I totally believe the stats. There were rooms everywhere. Most I visited would have one or two 9' pool tables but some didn't. Nobody ever used them. The room would be packed, people waiting, and the pool tables empty.
