Who's Going? Super Billiard Expo 2018

I'll be there from Wednesday to Sunday. Going to try having a pair of billiard glasses crafted by Curran Optical. If necessary I might be there on Tuesday.

You'll recognize me as I travel with my red JB Cases Butterfly with surprise, surprise "Cardiac Kid" embossed on it. Look forward to meeting you. Have a safe trip.

Lyn

Im going to make it a point to say Hi this year, Lyn.

Wednesday Warmup

I'm interested in playing the Wednesday Warmup, but the expo doesn't start until Thursday and I need at least a weekend pass to play in this mini tournament. Is the expo selling tickets on Wednesday?

I will be there playing in the Wed night warm up and will be in the McDermott booth most of my time doing jump lessons. Late Saturday night will probably be doing some trickshot stuff like me and others did last year.

Will be there for the Wednesday Warm Up through Sunday, hopefully. Spending the evenings at Classic Billiards Phoenixville Pa. (13 GC's and 5 Diamonds, all 9 footers), 15 minutes from the Expo. The pros stop in in the evenings. Lucky, I roll out of bed and I'm there.

I will be there but probably not playing any of the events except the cuemakers championship. I used to play the warm up and would if my son was going, but my help this years is someone who does not play much so he would rather get some sleep than play.

If you really want a rack-a-round I can get you one....

Thanks Chuck, that's the ticket. I didn't really care about getting one then or now. Just thought it was funny that the guys who were selling them made such a big deal about sending one to me and never did.

While you guys are there, visit the exotic jerky guy for non-pool related stuff.

Did that last year and enjoyed the variety pack on the drive home to keep myself alert. 1st and only time I ever plan on driving myself ever again.

Who is playing in what? I plan on going 1 and out in the Am Open and then losing all my money on the action tables.

I went once. It was the dead of Winter there and we had to drive a few miles from our hotel in bad weather each day to reach a crowded parking lot that was mostly on wet dirt piled with snow. It was hard to find a place to park and even harder to get out afterwards.

Inside it was like a three ring circus with all the stuff going on. The Expo itself was on one floor and the action room was in the basement. I bought a couple of things and was challenged to play a game where all the balls are racked in a circular pattern and you must stay inside the circle and make them all without missing to win. Anyone doing it would win a free set-up for playing the game. I watched a couple of guys try it and then they asked if I wanted a turn, so I said sure, why not. I did it successfully on the first try and they asked for my address where to send it and I gave it to them. I'm still waiting fifteen years later for it to arrive and when it does I plan to go back. :)

So you are taking the wrongs of a particular vendor out on Allen Hopkins? Its a great event. Sucks that vendor screwed you.

I've gone every year for the past 12-15 years. I will be there Wednesday thru Sunday. I enjoy the whole event. I very much miss the old venue (Valley Forge Radisson and Scanticon). Being able to stay on site made the Expo what it is. Now it is something different that seems to be progressively dwindling from what it once was. Not sure when they will realize this and move to a venue with attached hotel. At least I'm just across the parking lot in the Hilton!

My name is Kerry McAuliffe and I'd be happy to meet up with or say hello to anyone that is going!

Enjoy,

I registered for the Am Open. It's my first time, and whether I go 1 and out or actually place, I plan on having a good time.

Brian,

Great attitude about SBE. In your event, there will be over one thousand players of various abilities. Of those players entered, only sixty four will cash. If you are going on Wednesday, play in the Warm-up. Good practice and it will help you to get used to the Cyclop pool balls if you haven't played with them before. Specially the cue ball. Good luck and safe travels.

I doubt if that vendor is still at SBX as Allen Hopkins has high standards. I'm surprised a smart man like Jay is denying himself another chance at great experience by being shortsighted in his decision and reasoning.
