Finally a match made in Fargo

To Donny's credit, if they played again, he might beat her. They are pretty closely matched. Donny Mills is a class act all the way. I watched online how he conducted himself after it was over. He congratulated her on the win and was a gentleman at all times. I really like this guy. He would be a plus for our Mosconi Cup team imo. If I was ever the captain I would seriously consider adding him.

Brings back memories of Bobby Riggs jumping the net to congratulate Billy Jean King.
Carlot is a class act...and if he ran outta cars to sell, a lotta players wouldn’t like it.

It was funny at the end. Donny says, “I thought I was going to out break her. It’s ironic.” He played with tremendous heart and grind.

Her break was two levels above his and her safety play was one level higher. Their ball making and position play were about even. I think it could have easily closed out 15-8 but you could clearly see she started getting tired and let five racks go by not playing near the speed she started out at. If she’s feeling good and holding her A game throughout, I 100% believe that 790 rating.

You could certainly do much worse, Jay.

I heard Chen had won 8 tournaments in a row in Asia with the latest Amway Cup as the eighth. I was a referee there and after watching her play two years in a row in Amway Cup I think she is the most solid female player ever. She was beaten only once in her first match against a young Taiwanese player in TV match after her opponent ran 5 racks in a row from 1-1 to 6-1 race-to 7. It's on YouTube as all other Amway Cup tv table matches.

I was impressed with her play! I still do not believe she is a 790 level. Maybe 750. If she were to play Donnie again, I would bet on Donnie. I'd keep betting every set until I learned my lesson after she beats him 10 sets.

I have a question on her stroke. It looks fabulous. None of that pinned elbow garbage most of the women had 20 years ago. It looks like a man's stroke with the elbow drop. Do the other top Asian women "today" have a stroke like hers? She reminds me of a top local to me player, Pamela Treadway. When she was 16 (15 years ago), we all thought she would be a world champ. But, her life ended up going a different direction than pool. I think her best major finish was #4 in the women's US Open. Anyway, her stroke was like a man's also, that's why I bring her up.

I also loved Siming's pace of play. She was an absolute joy to watch!

I wonder what role jet lag could have played in that match. I don’t know how long she’s been stateside but I couldn’t help think of how Americans tend to play below their potential in Chinese tournaments.

I wonder how much Donnie working a full time job effected his play

Most would have and I highly doubt you stretch that race out they wouldn't again in fact put it to 100 I'd bet those who bet against him would think twice

Just my opinion...

After watching the full match I’d stick with Siming in a race to 100. I believe they both can play flawless ball pocketing and position play in respectable streaks. She will edge him out slightly in safe/kicksafe battles and speed control. The major differentiator is she outbreaks him enough to get more runout opportunities throughout the set. The only way she loses in a long race is if she finds it so unfamiliar that she gasses out with fatigue.

Siming Chen is part of Team Roy's Basement now.

Roy Francisco of Roy's Basement plans on backing her in some more action matches.

Got to love this guy he is a huge supporter of events and players, does free live streams for the fans to sweat.

He's the backer in many of the huge money matches happening these days.

And is a really nice guy the pool world needs more like him.

Now THIS is cool.

You guys wanting to bet on Donny got action!
Jason

There you go. Looks like I will be betting right alongside you in the future. If she can hang with Donny, then she can hang with a lot of guys. The girl has some gamble and I like that. I'd still play her some cheap Banks for 50 or 100 a game. I'll tell Roy. ;)
