Will Efren be playing Derby this year?

Will all Filipino players be there?

Supposedly he retired and did his farewall tour already.

And no, "ALL" the Filipino players will not be there, as the Horseshoe does not have room for all existing Filipino pool players.

All!? Like 20? no way. They let each other take turns with us:eek::sorry:

There will be some monsters though, trust that.

I thought I saw Efren was a no, but I really don't know.

With hotel and entry already taken care of...
...it would be nice if food and airfare was also.
Consider it an exhibition fee to the winningest DCC player ever.

He would (and has) get all that if he chose to come. Not the food and airfare part though.

They often bunk four to a room, so you can expect to see a Filipino contingent there again this year. I do know that Dennis gets a free room as a past All Around champion.

Jay, I'm hoping Rempe shows up! US Open in April.

Efren will probably be there. Retired? When I watch Efren play - I see the passion he has never lost for the game. He's the greatest and most talented player of all times. He can still beat any human at any time at any game. It's a beautiful thing. If he really is retired I hope he's enjoying a beautiful life back home.

Only a free room? They should show more respect by offering air fare and food. An award too.

I think we should start a go fund me page for efren.

Heck you guys all chip in and pay for his Car rental as well! I like me , im trying to bust all pool players and horses . When I see a champion walk in the pool room I'm asking what kinda spot I can get and how much we are betting . I'm trying to bust them ! All the other guys in the room are trying to kiss a--... Was raised in the 80s and we called our pool room boot camp .

You mean to play? I don't recall hearing about Rempe playing in any tournament since the IPT.

We'll your right, he didn't ever win the event, my miscue, Reid Pierce, he's got free entry. All prior winners have free entry.

I think he sold his table and stopped doing lessons and pretty much is done. Seriously doubt he goes the Open to play anyway. An over55 past champion event would be cool. Tough to compete with these kids at what, 71?

"You guys?" You can only wish you were ever mentioned in the same breath as Efren. I wonder how hard you tried to match up with him when he was over here. He was never hard to find! In the meantime I know several countrymen of his that you can probably make a game with. You boast on here about playing people all the time, but who have you actually played? I don't have any idea how you play but I'm betting my friend Dennis can give you the eight, nine and ten in Ten Ball blind, without ever seeing you play. Interested?

There are some people in the Pool world who deserve respect and Efren Reyes is one of them!

Just another "keyboard champion" Jay. I'm sure this guy would NOT get out of the electric-chair to play ANY of the Filipinos.

This was directed at Gypsy Soul!

I'm sure that I don't play at your level now and maybe I never did. But at one time I played and gambled with many of the top players of my era. That much is true.

As far as your remark about playing ANY Filipinos, you may be talking to the guy who has played MORE Filipinos than anyone else on this site, and all of them after I turned 60! I've been in more hole-in-the-wall poolrooms in the Philippines than probably any other American pool player. I played anywhere I could find a table and I played them at their game, Rotation. Granted we may not have been betting high by our standards, usually anywhere from $2 to $20 a game. But to the guys I was playing that was meaningful money.

I'm 74 now and I offered to play you Bank Pool dead even once and never got a response. So be careful who you're calling a keyboard warrior. You may be telling on yourself with that remark.

Whoa Jay. I'm on your side here. I was referring to that other cat. I totally agree with all you said. That guy talked about going in spots and playing champions is full of hot air. Dennis would probably give that guy whatever asked for and still take it off.

I apologize to you for that. For some reason I thought it was Gypsy Soul responding to me. My dementia set in for a moment. Sorry buddy :D
My apologies in advance to Gypsy Soul as well. I already said my piece to him about showing some respect for Efren Reyes, one of the greatest of all time.
