Response to black balled

we neither need nor want your business, you are black balled from buying from us
your arrogant tone is displeasing to me

I have sold Mystery cues that no one knew what they were getting and everyone was happy

When I first joined Az I sold a new Deano cue, people called me a crook
but 70 people bought the cue and loved it

Over 250 people have posted good replies,ZERO negative feed back

Tim Scruggs, voted one of the 3 best hitting cues on Az tried one of my cues and changed his taper

Jack Potter of Libra cue fame is putting his reputation on the cues
For about $500 each buyer will receive a cue with 3 shafts Jack's cues are praised for his shafts

We are sending 3 different tapered shafts with each cue to each buyer for them to try
Jack will personally finish each shaft

No one gets any choice or input on these
no one gets a guarantee of any kind

if you are worried about us not being ethical ,don't buy

These demonstrators are for you to test,if you think it is the best hitting cue, order a nicer one
if not complain, black balled is already complaining because we won't cater to his stupid questions

i see where he got his name,he is black balled from ever doing business with us

several have already requested to get one,we will start with 10

these will not feature the very clearest shafts nor highest gloss finish

we are hoping to put a great playing cue in your hands

If $500 seems high,please don't buy one
this is a gamble on your part and if you don't like it
we don't want to be responsible for your disaster

We plan to make a really nice looking cue,but it is not our first priority
Play is our first priority
and low cost to enable you to experiment without breaking the bank

Contact me by phone or PM

You are a cranky old fart today, dean. Give 'em hell.
And...
Our questions are legitimate. Who is making them? Jack Potter made Libra cues. Does Libra cues have cue making machinery?

I'd be in, conditionally...

1. Is Jack building them; or is he overseeing the build?
2. If Jack isn't building them, who is?
3. In what shop are they being built? It's already been stated Jack's been out of the business for a number of years - does he still have the equipment, or not?
4. From where are you guys getting the components? Is this vintage Libra wood stock & components, or are you buying/outsourcing?

Josh

Still valid and unanswered questions, despite dean's hissy fit.

You are a cranky old fart today, dean. Give 'em hell.

Our questions are legitimate. Who is making them? Jack Potter made Libra cues. Does Libra cues have cue making machinery?

I noticed Dean said Jack would personally finish each shaft, why say that if Jack was also building the cues?

I noticed Dean said Jack would personally finish each shaft, why say that if Jack was also building the cues?

I also thought it odd that he offered a 3 premium shaft set initially, then dropped that the firs set of cues would have lesser quality shafts

There is a lotta reading between the lines with dean.

He does like quality, though those low level production cues he was hawking were a departure from his standard fare.

I trust nothing I say would change the CamPot cue plans.

When i first got on Az,I started with athread describing a cue that "Could improve your game"
I had a friend of mine make me a cue featuring the best thinks I had ever found in a cue

The Deano cue had a wood pin,a conical taper, and a slick fish of tung oil on a basic sneaky pete

I played so good it was scary,I ran over 50 balls at 14:1,3 times my personal best

A bunch of knockers complained to high heaven ,but the more they complained
the more cues I sold 70 cues in a week

Not one buyer was disappointed, tim Scruggs had me send one to him and ,after playing with it ,he changed his taper on his cues

Look in the gallery at all the cues I have sold, great cues, expensive cues, from South west,Szamboti,Balabushka,Mottey, Rauenzahn,Owen, Runde

One time Schon made some special line of tributes for me alone
These are still prized and actually increased in value

i bought a handful of Mc Dermotts not long ago and was selling them for $150,somebody complained, even though I like the cue,I took them off the market and gave them away
rather than put up with certain Az complainers. nothing was the least bit wrong with the cues

some had lifetime warranty

Now Potter and I have been talking about getting back into cues,My idea was to sell about 10 low cost cues that featured his superb hit. People felt like The Libra had a unique hit.He only made
a few back then but they are good cues

These first 10 will be inexpensive test models,Jack has friends in the cue business that will
take his specs and make a nice little cue,Jack will over see the whole thing and pay close special attention to the shafts

These friends asked not to be named and if the quality is not there,we will refund deposits

Who helps and how much is actually not important, the first few will be nice but at $500 they will not be Szamboti or Drexler or South West cues, you might like the play better, you might not

If Jack has fun,if the buyers give great revues, and if all goes well,we might buy all the equipment and go into the custom cue building

Nothing more will be said. I have conducted myself honorably on this forum with over
250 positive feed back

Never had a bad reputation except people that don't like the fact that i can not post pictures

The thing I dislike about the way Az is becoming is the psuedo expert who act like they know it all, critics with no evidence that they know up from down about pool or cues

Gripe all you want you will receive no more informationt han this, Jack and I are already
looking at close to 10 buyers and the only thing left to do is for us to decide if
we want to put up with the hassle

If more than 10 of you want to take a chance on a $500 cue that just might improve your game, give you a chance to experiment with 3 different shafts and possibly make a big profit selling the cue because people loved Libras and Deanos

Of course you could lose your money, continue to play just as lousy as you always have and get the flu from germs at the pool room, your cue could warp or rot because its made of wood, your wife may want a divorce, your feelings may get hurt because some jerk on Az may call you stupid because it is the Indian b not the arrow, you may need a psychiatrist to help you, or you might get to playing so good that you quit your day job and starve to death like the other pros and blame us for improving your game

In short,no one is trying to take your last $500 bucks and send your a piece of junk cue,nor will it have perfectly clear $300 shafts, grow up,for $500 you will get a good deal if my history means anything

Once we commit I am going to ask for sales in the sale forum

Deanoc, BB is a joker through and through, he is also a good man and a hell of a player. Dont let his "fun" posts make you think badly of him. He is one of the last good guys out there.

For the life of me, I seem to remember an 8 point Ivory Libra Cue from my younger days, and that's what made me want one. I could be mistaken

I highlighted in red what IS actually important. Especially with the current antics of Sly/Harris. I want in on this, but if my questions aren't worthy of an answer, then I'm out.

Honestly, Dean, you've been dumping a ton of "hits a ton" cues here lately. Best cues ever, best construction ever, top notch cue makers posting in the Gallery; only to find their way to the For Sale section. It's good that you gave away those Star cues. They're not worth anything. I might even be hazed for saying all this. They're just like Bama cues, Sly cues, Harris cues - They're not worth anything. Unless the questions above are answered, that's exactly what these "Libra" cues will be to those that are in and end up not liking the cue - worthless. If, and it's a big if, the buyer ends up loving the cue, then they're golden. I have a Lucassi sneaky that is the best hitting cue I've ever owned. Paid $98 bucks for it. I've also paid thousands for turds, only to lose money dumping them.

I'll stop ranting until you deem it worthy to reply.

Josh

glad you elaborated.

I dont think anybody was worried about not getting solid value from you. I know it was not a concern that occurred to me.

i see no good reason to bet against Jack and Dean.

In my mind, they are testing the waters for the return of Libra II(my name, not theirs).

They offer a simple proposition-if you would like to spend a little cash to purchase a cue that could be your best "player", contact them and get in on the fun.

Let's be real, neither guy is getting rich over a 10 cue $500 per cue deal.

They both have a good reputation. If you order a cue from someone else, do you question the source of the wood, the metal parts, and bumper?

Dean has stated that someone will contract the 10 to give them a chance to assess the cues and the market. Jack will handle the shaft tapers.

I admire their courage especially since we are in a similar age bracket. Cue building equipment is not cheap and neither are the component parts when one begins to build top end cues. I wish them smooth sailing, great sales, and a long cue-building life!!!

Campot, Depot hmm

I have access to equipment, this will be a hands on project for me,
Everything will be topnotch. If they don't look, hit, and feel perfect
to me I will scrap the whole thing.
Great names, we may even do a special line, Campot Black-Balls
or Depot Black-balled, or Libra Black-Baller.

Great answer. This is the info so many people wanted to hear.

Edit- you do know I outlasted Bonus Ball and 2 Behrmans, right?

Damn. I think you are on to something there: <BBQ>

I like it. Sell dean on it and is is yours with full licensing rights.

Will there eventually be Black-Ball Breakers?
In any event, I will take one of these 10 if there is still a slot open.
