US Open 9-ball Predictions Anyone?

... Let's see if we get the loose pockets that are customary at Matchroom's events in the single-table arena. If so, even more players are in with a chance to win this. ...
That will be a Diamond likely with 4.5-inch pockets with three days of heavy play on it before the knock-out starts. It will be dry and warm under the lights. I'm guessing medium tough.

A different way to ask that is: How many would you have to pick to bet even money that one of your chosen group will win?

I think I have to pick about 10. Not all by FargoRate, but close. I might pick a dark horse or two outside the top 32.

No fair looking at the draw first.

There are too many players who could win with mostly solid matches and one or two great matches.

I was going to say ten before reading your second line. If I could pick ten players I would give someone else the field and bet even money.

That sounds great, Bob. If they just set up a single table in the arena with no play on it, it would be very different.

I believe it is table 1 on the schedule. There will be play on it from the first round. They seem to be showcasing good players, so I'm guessing it will be broadcast or streamed.

I’m in Taiwan, my old stomping grounds, and somehow got the feeling that one of their players may take it.

Chang Jung-Lin looks like a good pick.

That has a rhyming ring to it,too.

Chang Jung-Lin for the win!

Any predictions, boys?

I’m watching this from Taichung, Taiwan on my iPad and it looks like my Taiwan boys are doing pretty good.

My Chang is out, but my other Taiwan Chang is still in and Wu, who is originally from Taiwan, just kicked Wang Can(t)’s ass 11-0, without Wang making a single ball the entire set.

I’m going down to the pool hall a bit later tonight to teach some of the rest of these Taiwanese boys how to play. LMAO!

!

Which you shouldn't have much problem doing, H.E., considering every Taiwanese swingin' d**k who can make more than 9 balls in a row is at the US Open!!! Their contingent was like... 4,000 players!
