realkingcobra is the man!!!

I'm not familiar with the construction of the Diamond, but wouldn't the washers be bearing against the slate liner, not the rails?

In your mind, how do you see the washers being tightened against the bottom of the rails on any kind of table?

I can take some photos and post them here later if you want....

Diamonds are the best design on that you can access the leveling system and rail bolts without taking anything apart or off the table.

I'll leave the mechanic videos to more qualified folks, so photos are better for me in this area. But I went down to Harbor Freight tools and picked up a basic torque wrench ($19.99) that could be set to 15 ft/lbs and set all 24 bolts to 15.

I did note that you could really damage the wood by over tightening those raised washers with the teeth and sink it right in. So the torque wrench was useful for not only getting them tight to specifications but also protecting the rails themselves.

So tighting this bolt to 15lbs? I see 8 on the long rail and 4 on the short.

That will not mess up the level right?

I dont want to mess up the level and be up a creek with
no Diamond mechanics in sight.

This bolt...

When I assisted in the leveling of the table during install, it was just the bolts in the legs that were adjusted.
Yes, those are them that I set at 15.

I can't comment on "any kind of table," as I don't know what configuration they would present. But I know that for GC's the washers aren't tightened against the bottom of the rails. I don't know about Diamonds but I suspect the same is so.

What's your point?

JOB> WORK> That is the point. While this may be entertainment for you, we work and you like wasting peoples time with silly and obvious things.

When you actually start working on pool tables, you'll figure out what that washer is used for.

Trent, you are welcome to ignore my comments going forward - in fact, I wish you would. How anyone on the internet can waste someone's time is beyond me, in fact, it's a ridiculous position. Just ignore me, go past it, and your precious time will be preserved.

Damn dude, read the pictures in post 65#

The guy is using the forum to burn time. Kind of like slatemate in the mechanics section. My life revolves around pool( working on tables, selling them, buying them, researching it and playing it) and I spend quite a bit of time on this site while at the shop and home. We get these types every so often. They need JOBS. They try to simply ask questions and then act like they already knew or completely have no idea what you are talking about. Lame.

P.S. Jviss, I truly try very hard to ignore you, but, when it gets ridiculous I am gonna say something whether you like it or not. :)

I did! That's the same washer as appears the Brunswick. It's a domed washer with a non-slip feature against the wood and (probably) an internal toothed locking feature on top (for the bolt). It's primary feature, a product of the dome, is to maintain tension across materials that vary in thickness (marginally) with changes in temperature and humidity.

(I thought you may have been referring to some other kind of washer that was against a rail.)

I am puzzled as to why you find it necessary to insult me. It makes the AZB forum experience less pleasant than it could be.

GC IV with the dome washers .. noticed long rails aren't aligned properly, won't roll true past the side pocket on one side. Can I loosen the rail bolts and use a long level across side pocket to align cushions on either side and then just tighten them back up or am I out of my league. Also torque specs on bolts .. Thanks!!
