Starting treatment on Monday

I am out of here in a few minutes, heading for Moffitt ( the hospital ). They're telling me it will be @ 5 hours ( or so ) of chemo ( fluids first, then the chemo, then more fluids ), then radiation this afternoon.

Thanks again, more than I can say, for all the encouragement and good wishes.

So here we go... post up and rack 'em!

Hope it went well...

It did, CP. Chemo did take almost 5 hours. The gave me fluids, then a bag of anti-nausea, then the chemo, then more fluids. Then radiation at the end. I left my house at 8am and got home at 8300pm. Long day. The good news is, so far, I feel perfectly normal. Hopefully *that* will last. Time will tell.

Keep the faith, Mike. Your courage inspires us all.

First day is always a bit rough... gets easier from here.

I'm actually gonna mosey on down to the room and hit some balls this early afternoon. Radiation only today and it's not until 630pm.

Thanks for the thoughts.

My wife's doctor told us that we would look back on this as a small speed bump in life.
Although it was hard to see it that way at the time, looking back, that's what it was.

Wishing you the best in your journey.

Also, thanks for your review of your Dave Brainard cue. Based on it I ordered one and couldn't be happier!

Thanks Max. Normally ( it's just the way I am ) I would just consider it a bump anyway, but in this particular case, it's not my 1st rodeo ( went through this is 07 also ) so I have something to base it on when I say it's just a bump in the road. Last time was, this time will be as well.

You're most welcome about Dave Brainard. He's something else when it comes to cuemaking. So easy to work with, committed, cares about his work and customers and their 100% satisfaction. Guarantees for life, no questions asked returns, free repairs on ANYTHING, etc, etc. And GREAT cues. I'm really happy yours worked out for you. You should post an image of it. I'm sure everyone would like to see it.

Went through the treatments for a tumor in my sinus cavity behind my left eye in 2001. Lost the vision of that eye, and two years later had both hips replaced. If you are on high doses of Prednisone, alert your Doctor that bone deterioration can happen. Two of my doctors were shocked when they heard this.

No sign of cancer since.

If I were going through the chemo now, I know Alice Cooper's Poison would be playing in my head the whole time. ".. poison going through my veins" poison for the cancerous cells

.
