Alex wins a cliff hanger over Mika 125-119
Ran 55 and out
And (as I saw it) they counted one of Alex's legal safes as a foul and neglected to score 5 of his points in his 7th inning! So he won 131-119.![]()
Won’t count as a record, they must have done that to make it easier.
I enjoyed the production. Having cut my teeth on 14.1 on TV with Frank McGowan running a 140 balls in the early 60's, and playing Varner in the Midwest Collegiate finals at IU. Only thing I would recommend, and I've done a fair amt of this type of work for pool.
Use an overhead camera for 14.1.
Watching, explaining and getting the feel of straight pool play is NOT the greatest from a flat camera angle.
Overhead Camera with 14.1 is really the best way to View this game from a TV.
9 ball yeah, but not being able to talk about those shot choices, and outcomes in 14.1 is not good for the viewer.
Otherwise Nice production.
Fantastic stream

I agree with all but, it was as good as most streams that aren't free.
I think they, for what it cost us, did a wonderful job.

I was a little nervous when I heard the commentators say that Alex and Mika weren’t updating their own score because whoever was doing the digital wasn’t always accurate
Its easy to get caught up in the trance though when someone great is running balls so I’m not judging. I like their score/stats graphics. Good stough.
... And, I think the switch to 125 for opening round matches was a very good move. At the high level at which these guys play, 100 is just a bit too short. 125 seems perfect.
I haven’t watched all of the matches, or even all of any one match, but it sure seems as if there have been a number of them in which one player got close to the goal line only to give up the table and then have to sit and watch his opponent come from well back to either make it close or win it with a healthy run. Very entertaining. And, I think the switch to 125 for opening round matches was a very good move. At the high level at which these guys play, 100 is just a bit too short. 125 seems perfect.
