Allowing members who followed the advice of health experts and decided to stay away from large gatherings like the BCA teams competition to apply the fees from this year's event toward a subsequent event seems like a no-brainer.There has been a sea change in concerns, health care professional opinions and cancellations just in the last week. I think if this event had been a week or two later, it would have definitely been canceled and far fewer players would have shown up.
What most companies are doing is at least giving future credit for cancellation fees, even if they are not refunding.

Someone should count up the number of forfeits so we can get a hard number on the amount of money they are taking from their members.
That's an interesting point. In essence, they are 1) rewarding the people who ignore the doctors and health experts with higher prize payouts while at the same time 2) giving themselves an excuse for why they can't refund people or allow them to use those fees in a later event.I played in a bar league once 20 years ago and swore never to again.... I'm stating that to show that I am in an ignorant position regarding bar league pool.
If people forfeited, would't their entry fee and any dues they paid still go to the prize fund for the players who did show up? If true, would it still be "taking money from their members"?

Doubly sleazy.
They don't have a clue. Its Vegas. Think they give a shit?? CSI is acting like nothing is going on outside the venue. Crazy. Heard that domestic travel restrictions to/from the highly affected states could be next. What is their plan if one of the players gets sick and/or tests positive for the coronavirus?
Yeah right. Have to be insane to go to Nationals this year.CSI says, "...our members are enjoying the competition and there are no plans to cancel anything. CSI and the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino have no reason to believe anyone at the venue is at risk..."

Ive been wearing a mask to the market and Home Depot for supplies. I saw about 4 other people in 3 days with masks. Very surprised not more.

kinda looks like corey..
if you have the virus, the mask can help prevent transmission
it can work the other way too but
the big thing here is that we don't have enough masks to go around
masks would do the most good (for everybody) used first by healthcare workers
think about how bad it is/would be if all our drs. and nurses and everybody got sick tryna help
firefighters here in the seattle-area haven't had masks to wear, for example
not good
