Junior International Championship Results / Summation?

As much as Ra Hanna is doing to promote his very popular Junior international 9-Ball tour, which is awesome, it would be nice to see the results and a summary of the weekend posted somewhere on AZbilliards?

I know this is only Monday and it just concluded yesterday, but these tournaments really should be big news. They are, in my opinion, absolutely the only realistic hope for the future in the development of young American talent to hopefully eventually compete with the top international players.

I understand - it’s just very sad they are not capitalizing in a timely manner on this opportunity to get some exposure in the pool world (as small as it may be) for these kids and for this tour.

I watched the finals of the Proam it was epic! I also agree that it would be nice to see a synopsis of the event..

I can only assume / hope that Ra or someone that works with him is in the process of contacting Mike Howerton for the homepage write-up on the event.

I started a thread on the Predator Jr upcoming event a few days back, not one comment.

Sorry, I just left a comment to bring it back up to the top. It’s very sad there is so little support / interest for high level junior pool in this country - no different than any other level of pool.

They had 400+ folks watching the live stream that I saw which I thought was pretty good. Beyond that I think Ra is doing more for the juniors than anyone. I also think he sees the juniors as a great area to focus his business and that I believe in completely. Hopefully he will suceed and help save pool for the future.

400 sounds pretty sad to me. I’m guessing friends and family members of the players likely made up more than half of those, with regulars on here counting for maybe another 50+.

It may not seem like a lot but the whole idea of junior tournaments is really just starting. So 400 at this stop might mean 600 at the next. Honestly I believe Ra might benefit by having AZ involved as a sponsor. If the members here could or would be willing to get involved that also might help..
Either way I think it is a wonderful concept to get some new young blood interested. I am sure Mark Wilson must be thrilled as well.
Time will tell but I think it is a positive move in the Right direction for pool..
BTW Chris. Did you watch any of the stream or perhaps stream it in your pool hall for your players to watch?

Yes, we had it showing on our big TV, when our own Cole Lewis was playing in the live stream matches. Quite exciting, particularly for the ones that know him from playing here.

THAT'S what I am talking about! That is just what we need, in fact every pool hall owner should do what you did. Sadly, I bet that was not the case. Either way I am very happy you did that. In the Raleigh area the Tate family gets great support and I am sure Cole Lewis and his family receive the same for you and the other players in Boone. I always liked Boone, great place to get a Christmas Tree and lunch at the Daniel Boone Inn. Apparently your keeping the pool scene alive as well. My Hats off to ya! Happy St. Paddy's day!

If they are not an avid az’r or friend of participant they would never know.
Your right marketing has always been lacking in pool. I have seen post it notes stuck on the interior side of pool room doors for advertising. At least now the social media platforms are available for that..

Our hall does the same. if there is pool stream available we usually have it on at least one screen. it gets alot of comments a talk going at the bar. It is definitely a nice addition to a hall.
