Let's talk chalk

So what's your favourite chalk, now a days.

Personally I have a hard time spending more than 5 bucks and cube. I'm really enjoying some Predator blue that someone gave my not to long ago. Pretty smooth but kind of messy, but plays well.

Go post your up, thanks.

Chernobyl Green Russian magic, the cleanest chalk I've ever used.

I desperately need some more I'm out. Eventhe blue Russian magic might as well be masters.

I also was given some of the predator blue chalk it works but I'm still happy with the good old tried and true masters chalk .
With that said I'm open minded enough to try some of the new and improved chalk but I feel in some ways a person is just chasing their tail looking for the next new fade .

I clean my shaft and tip before I put it away lightly scuffing the tip.
At start of play tip is primed with Kamui, then follow up with predator, redoing the Kamui maybe every few racks.

Please no debate about the cost I'm just telling you what works for me.
Those not interested in the Kamui, that predator chalk is pretty damn good.

Currently have a piece of Taom 2.0 in my case. Used green Triangle for a good few years, so I got the Taom to try out. Also picked up some green Master to compare it to the Triangle, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet due to COVID.

Magic chalk is the best for me as I can tell that it helps not to miscue at all...But my 2nd cheap options is Silver Cup blue from seyberts really cheap and great chalk.

I tried a few chalks, Predator, Taom, Masters pre-flag and with the flag. Some last longer than others. I couldn't tell the difference between the Masters chalks. To be perfectly honest, I can't really tell much difference between all of them. The Taom is fine but if you ever set that thing down funny, it will roll onto the table and hit a ball, or some far off corner of whatever room you are in. Worst shape for chalk ever.

The Predator chalk probably left the biggest mess on the table. I don't use it anymore for that reason - otherwise it was fine.

Once the Taom is gone, I'll just stick with Masters Chalk. The only chalk I've used that I hated was the Kamui lipstick chalk. Can't say I ever fell in love with chalk. As long as it's blue.

Agree the round size is a joke. I watched a guy chase his all over one day. Kinda comical. I'd list Magic and Blue Diam. at 1-1A and then Master. Poolhall i play at has Master. I use it.

Masters sky blue for me. Matches the simonis tournament cloth perfectly. I haven't got into the boutique chalks and likely won't. I think I paid like $30.00 for a brick of 144 pieces. I will likely never go thru that brick by the time I die lol.

Why does Seybert's show SC chalk at such a high price? Only time i used it it was really grainy/dusty. Thought it sucked.
I dunno why the price is like that now. I bought it back when it was a hot deal the blue one, a box was really cheap for me. But usability I think they're much better than the masters chalk and I feel it holds into the chalk pretty well! To me they are second best to the magic chalk. --- Predator chalk is also good but its too messy.

Btw I don't know why you say high price, back then I bought a box of 12 chalks for just $2 --- Now its $5 I think for that same box.
