So what's your favourite chalk, now a days.
Personally I have a hard time spending more than 5 bucks and cube. I'm really enjoying some Predator blue that someone gave my not to long ago. Pretty smooth but kind of messy, but plays well.
Go post your up, thanks.
I've been a chalk ho in the past, here are some notable chalks.
Kamui .98 was dirty and expensive, held on the tip so long it helped me develop bad PSR. At the time I thought it was good to not chalk. Chalking with purpose (while observing the table) gives you pause to see what you need to see just a bit longer. I understand why people love it and I used to sing it's praise back when it was the only premium chalk. Use this if you like your CB ruined with blue embedded in the surface.
Balabushka, junk. Dirty and nothing special. Very dry and very little grip.
Russian Magic, great chalk, everything you could ask for, great price, but somewhat dirty. Cleaner than Master, but still a
little dirty.
Taom Pyro, great chalk, somewhat expensive, but CLEAN. No marks on the CB or cloth. It's the cleanest chalk I've every used and works very good. Very forgiving as far as miscues if you forget to chalk. Lasts a very long time.
Lava chalk, good chalk, kind of nice to apply but there are some pumice chunks in it that are too large. Fairly clean but the pumice can scrape chalk off of very hard tips. Looks like worm trails through mud on a sidewalk. Wonderful for medium or soft tips.
Masters, surprisingly good chalk, but DIRTY as hell. Invest in a good brush, X1, and/or a vacuum.
Silver Cup, not great, usable but it just doesn't feel right to me.
Sportscraft, absolutely the worst chalk I've ever used. Give it to your opponents and watch their miscues go up.
Triangle, good chalk, DIRTY.
Pre-flag Masters, same as masters IMO, but might be dry or wet since it's old now.
I've went back to Masters as it's what the guys I play with use and I don't really feel like babysitting chalk anymore. It's dirt cheap, dirty, but works good.
