Trick shot artists seldom ever play in tournaments after their show because they don't want anyone to see how they really play pool against other players as well. Better to be though of as a great player, than it is to prove themselves as only SHOW and no GO!

Most of the big buys do challenge matches like Mike Massey and Tom Rossman. I do challenge matches after as well. Our "GO" is something different as other people's "GO." If I were to play a top named pool pro in an artistic pool match like our tournaments are, I would be giving up a lot of weight. Likewise, if I play that same top pool player in rotation, I would need a lot of weight.

You DO know Mike was a Professional Pool player BEFORE he turned to being a trick shot artist, right. In the 80's Mike signed with McDermott cues, as a Pro player AFTER having ran 13 consecutive racks of 9b in a MAJOR tournament!
Yeah, and clowns at rodeos get paid too, they just don't have to ride the bulls to get a paycheck!!!
And yep, you're only as good as the competition you play against, only problem is most leagues discourage the better players from playing as they handicap their games against the lower rated players, to keep it FAIR! Which is why the better players move on and quit playing in LEAGUES!

That's why there's so many tournaments wit Fargo rate limits, and pool league tournaments with a cap on the players ratings! Or are you oblivious to that part of pool?

Well considering Florian is sponsored by the APA, he doesn't play in VNEA or BCA leagues so the matches that he as in with Fargo are tournament matches, which he does play in around Vegas from time to time.
Like I said, it's better to be thought of as a great player, from doing trick shots, than it is to prove you're NOT by playing in tournaments and going 2 and out from the start!
