Surprise surprise about about Pool in MSM.👍

One of the aspects of trick shots that I feel pool players don't like is that fact that we are paid up front, which can lead to a jealously factor. I don't need to grind for 6+ hours at a tournament and not even cash. I am paid before I even walk in the door and I entertain for an hour or two.
Trick shot artists seldom ever play in tournaments after their show because they don't want anyone to see how they really play pool against other players as well. Better to be though of as a great player, than it is to prove themselves as only SHOW and no GO!

Most of the big buys do challenge matches like Mike Massey and Tom Rossman. I do challenge matches after as well. Our "GO" is something different as other people's "GO." If I were to play a top named pool pro in an artistic pool match like our tournaments are, I would be giving up a lot of weight. Likewise, if I play that same top pool player in rotation, I would need a lot of weight.

Another poster said he had a 650-700 Fargo rate, and according to "Billiard University"? What is that?
your almost right. I said Florian has a game between a 650-700 level. I when I looked up Florian's actual Fargo I wanted to see what that is compared to an APA handicap. Billiard university was the first place that popped up as a comparison between league handicaps.

Well its an art form, doing trick shots, people enjoy like street Magic, or a great Las Vegas Magic show.

BTW RKC magic is not real, it is all smoke & mirrors fake.

People pay to see, and top Magic acts get paid will to do Magic.

I work with this guy:

Super nice guy, and I don't know how good he was, all he said was that he used to compete as a pro in trickshot tourneys...

We played 8 ball for a few hours on an old gold crown. Ended up about even...he may be a ball better ,just due to he shoots very straight. He is ranked as an SL 7 in APA.

You DO know Mike was a Professional Pool player BEFORE he turned to being a trick shot artist, right. In the 80's Mike signed with McDermott cues, as a Pro player AFTER having ran 13 consecutive racks of 9b in a MAJOR tournament!

Yeah, and clowns at rodeos get paid too, they just don't have to ride the bulls to get a paycheck!!!

Yep. All VNEA and BCA leagues report to Fargo.
And yep, you're only as good as the competition you play against, only problem is most leagues discourage the better players from playing as they handicap their games against the lower rated players, to keep it FAIR! Which is why the better players move on and quit playing in LEAGUES!

So you still think you know everything about everything? Cool, just checking.

Cool video. Most of the shots in his video are our tournament shots. I don't know what tournaments he is talking about because I have been competing since 2014 and never heard of him. Is his name Matt MacPhail by any chance?

That's why there's so many tournaments wit Fargo rate limits, and pool league tournaments with a cap on the players ratings! Or are you oblivious to that part of pool?

Ever seen a pool tournament that required a 775 Fargo rating or HIGHER to be eligible to play in???

Well considering Florian is sponsored by the APA, he doesn't play in VNEA or BCA leagues so the matches that he as in with Fargo are tournament matches, which he does play in around Vegas from time to time.

Like I said, it's better to be thought of as a great player, from doing trick shots, than it is to prove you're NOT by playing in tournaments and going 2 and out from the start!
