Hand flip's and such!

why would you need a marker. the ref should just put it where he thinks it goes.
its the same for both players so works out even. what has pool come to where they argue over a an exact placement of a ball. or someone flips his hand.
Mika's argument was the placement after removing the rack allowed Shane to see enough of the 1B to pocket it. He claimed the 1B was not able to be pocketed prior.

OK, I got it. I don’t see why hand flips from a player who is at the table shooting is disrespectful to an opponent - more the case of a whiner who is complaining non verbally that he didn’t get the roll he thought he deserved.

However, hand flip gestures from a player who is seated while his opponent is at the table is certainly disrespectful - basically a non verbal complaint that his opponent at the table just got lucky.

rexus, shouldn't a person be responsible to tell the ref before hand that the ball doesnt go and make sure it stays that way. just like you would tell your opponent if he was setting it up. to me that was mica's fault or oversight.

my belief is that until your opponent is at the shot what you say and do is not a factor unless its bad and then he should be told to stop.
after he is at the shot then no fast movements or distractions should be made. but minor movements are okay as a person shouldnt have to be a statue.
if this is a problem let them move the chairs with more distance from the table.

Mika hand-flips from everywhere, especially while his opponent is at the table. Lots of antics from him for years.

What if Mika says it doesn't go and Shane believes/says it does, before a ball is touched? With a ref for the match, I don't believe Mika should say anything about if it goes or not. Aren't the ref's decisions the final word?

yes ref decision is final and should be. but a person can also say something to him to watch out for. just like after he racks. if its not tight you can call him back to check it.

Personally anything he does in his chair (to a point) wouldn't bother me. It's the exchange he had with Shane rhat made him sound like a whiny little bitch. Shane had nothing to do with anything that happened. So why even direct anything toward him? That's why Shane called a timeout.

Shane and Mika went the same direction during the time out. I wonder what was said to each other off camera... if anything?
I agree that mika was out of line to complain because the ball went before anyway. However, I don’t think he directly engaged with Shane initially- he first made a comment to the ref and then Shane told him that it (picking the ball up) made no difference

I think the rack before balls are in play and whether or not they are touching is much different than a single ball in the middle of a game. We both know there are players that would try to dup the ref for an advantage or use this interaction to shark their opponent. I don't think the players should influence the ref doing their job during a game.

Shane comments on moving the nine in this podcast:

I'll add the one was not being blocked by the nine prior to removing the template as Mika claimed.

Just rewatched Shane vs Mika from the score being 10-3.
Mika stood up 4 times
Hand flipped 8 times and leaned in 6 times while Shane was shooting or breaking.
Also the 9 ball that was picked up that Mika was griping about if anything it was put more in the line of fire than wider.
Just sayin
Hand flipped? Whats dat? Been playing for 60 years. Been flipped off and told to f#ck off?

Distractiors? Have'm sit in one of these...

That is very sad for a pro level player playing against other pro level players to act like that while in his chair. That would be a bad habit even for an amateur level player but for a pro player it is completely unacceptable.
You're telling this to members who still don't think Earl Strickland was ever in the wrong with all his antics. Lots of members here always wanted to give him a pass because he once was a great player. What Mika was doing pales in comparison to the BS Earl used to pull. That said, Mika was still being a dick. I see many, and I mean many players sit in their chair for virtually the whole match without hardly ever moving a muscle. It's not as hard to sit still as some on this thread are making it out to be.

I try to be a statue when my opponent is at the table.

Treat others as you want to be treated.

I just recently had a jackass pull a move. I had two balls left for the win. First shot he lets out a giant arm stretching yawn while I'm down shooting, very annoying but I shoot and pocket the ball and then on the 8 ball he all of a sudden starts talking real loud about him missing his chance blah blah and I make the 8 and say nice try, laugh and walk away. Not sure if he got the point but haven't seen him do it since 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Losing sucks, it happens to everyone and If your going to lose, atleast lose with dignity

There's also a match from the Derby where Corey left his chalk on the table and Mika tossed it under the table.

Here is the match,
(time: 20:43). Corey chalks after making the 6 ball in game 5 and leaves his chalk on the rail. After a couple of early safes in game 6, Mika gets out with the chalk staying on the rail. Mika then throws it under the table after the break in game 7. Corey looks for it on his next turn, eventually Mika retrieves it.
