One complaint I don't care for

I absolutely choose to. I could flip my hand, complain about it, make a comment to my opponent, etc. I could easily choose to do that. I choose to say to myself "Holy crap, I got a chance!". Your mindset is 100% your choice.

as the incoming player
i would find it hard to be "thrilled" that there are 4 balls left wide open and they happen to be in my kicking lanes and i am frozen to one of them.
would be hard for me to say to myself
self.....you are the luckiest man on earth because you get to shoot again this rack...:cool:
that being said
i would put my big boy pants on and do the best to escape the trap i am in... (y)

i think where we agree and disagree at the same time is
1) i dont think its "fair" the opponent got "rewarded " for his mistake
2)and although i may or may not make a comment about it
as i said above
i am the kind of person who just deals with the cards given to me
but its hard for me to say i am "happy " about your lucky roll

It beats the alternative of the guy making the ball and running out, right?

Me and a buddy played a ring game a couple of weeks ago with one of his friends and I was off just a little bit (rushing during lunch hour (ok, lunch 2 hours...) and I missed way more shots than normal and I kept hooking my buddy so the new guy (who is about 2-250 fargo points below me, my buddy is about 150 below me) kicked the shit out of us. It was pretty funny until I had to leave and was down about 15 points. LOL.

whenever anyone gets a lucky roll we say "you got a Dougy" 😂

To clarify, you shouldn't be happy about his lucky roll. Not at all. You should be happy that you have another chance when you could have just lost without another chance.

because if he runs out and wins
he deserved it
i can easily accept and respect that.
if he hooks me by luck (not a 2 way shot )
and i cant escape and THEN he runs out
i accept it.
thats pool.

I don't know what it would take to make you happy in that instance. You could just sweep the balls and give him the win. Next time it happens try to look at it as a free opportunity. It might help with your mindset going forward.

If you can shrug it off and try to win, then you are not the type of person I was questioning in my original post. I don't understand the people who feel the need to complain about it. I also don't understand the type of person that apologizes after they get a roll, but that's a topic for another thread...

Or just turn around and not watch the game then when you come to the table all you know is you're hooked, maybe he played a safe?
