C/F shaft and what not to do!

What not to do?
Maybe it should be don't buy one.
I've tried them on other peoples cues and I don't get the attraction.
I guess playing with maple for 62 years is the reason.
I haven’t hit a ball with one. That’s how long it’s been since I played. I’ll stick with wood too! 😃

CF shafts come with 3 different finishes........... smooth and shiny.......... matt.... and no finish................. if you screw up the finish on the first 2.............. put it in the lathe spin it up and wet sand all the finish off with 400..... do it length wise to finish........ wax it........... it will be the natural look of CF......... try it .... it works
After you put it in the lathe spin it up and wet sand all the finish off with 400.....

How do you repair the shaft when you break thru the outer layer and leave that big shinny spot?

there is no "outer layer".......... you only sand off the finish ........... sand it and wax it....

that's exactly why I will not put a tip in a Revo............ you cannot fix the finish if it gets screwed up

😆 hilarious! Advising to sand down a CF shaft but will not put a tip on one... 🤣

can you read???? I will not tip a painted CF shaft........... if you fuck one up you can sand the rest of the finish off.................. a CF shaft is just a hollow CF tube filled with foam ........ with or with out a finish............ they cost $10 for the blank in quantities............. a Revo costs $500............. hahahahahaha

Let’s just say I made 1000 blanks, with no level of quality control. You buy them at $10/each. Let’s just say 200 are perfectly straight, 200 are close enough to use, and 600 have developed a warp and are unusable. You’ve now lost 60% of your purchase. $6000 down the drain. You have to recoup that cost. That’s the nature of the beast when it comes to reputable companies. You either pay for the quality product to reach you, or you buy in bulk and do the quality sorting yourself.

You should try and understand the logistics reputable companies have to go through to stay in business. And if it’s been to hard to understand what I’m saying, you’re not a reputable person. You don’t communicate with respect in the slightest. You just hurl insults at every perceivable option. Worse so that you cannot understand basics of doing business.

not many CF shafts warp............. I have never seen one.............. you are must making up numbers to justify "hurling insults" at me........... please get back to reality..............

Versatility in Industry is strength.
There's room for every option.
On the Repair side. There is a lot to learn to keep up with the advancement.

There's a difference between warping and being not straight though...crappy production vs deterioration?

I think the post you quoted addressed the claim that 'blanks are $10 and some foam' is a simplistic analysis which implies finished shafts should be drastically cheaper than they are.
