I believe she has a job and is doing well.Has anything been written about Karen Corr not playing?
women still look kind of lethargic shooting pool ... like Jennifer berretta looks almost robotic .... like they are focused way to much on stance and pre shot routine. i think much of that shit gets in the way and makes the game look unnatural to the player. you can compare it to many male players that just walk up to the table and just shoot the balls in .... the game has become natural to them.Karen is to be respected at the highest level in my opinion. We can all agree she was a rival to the great Alison Fisher. In a world where cowardly men choose to compete in womens sports, Karen has chose to compete against the men many times. There are others like Lori Jon Jones, Janette and of course Allison too. I can’t explain why the men still dominate in a our sport though. it is not particularly a physical strength dominated event, but still seems to be the case. One of my high level, pool playing female friends claimed the it was about the break and men being stonger. I don’t buy into that theory 100%. Case in point, the great Efren didn’t have all that great of a break and Larry Nevels powerful stroke didn’t allow him to dominate. I’ve heard others say that more men play than women and it’s a numbers game. There could be some truth to that. I think it could be primal in that men were hunters and our core focus is about the “kill” if you will. Our hand-eye coordination and competitiveness for games has probably been honed a little tighter in our lil’ reptilian brains over the years. Who knows for sure. It is just a theory and i could be totally wrong. Not to side track this thread, I put Karen in my to 5 female players of all-time. Probably second only to Allison.
I agree. I rarely see a woman with a “stroke”. They are out there, but few and far between. A fluid and loose stroke doesn’t make you a good player, but it does increase the range of shots that are possible.women still look kind of lethargic shooting pool ... like Jennifer berretta looks almost robotic .... like they are focused way to much on stance and pre shot routine. i think much of that shit gets in the way and makes the game look unnatural to the player. you can compare it to many male players that just walk up to the table and just shoot the balls in .... the game has become natural to them.

Karen and Allison get destroyed by the Asian women - Siming Chen for exampleKaren is to be respected at the highest level in my opinion. We can all agree she was a rival to the great Alison Fisher. What does this have to do with the original question?
Absolutely nothing. The original question had been answered … move along.
Then you wouldn't have anyone to troll.Th

Not sure who the top women are anymore. I know there are some great Asian players, but I don't see them competing with the men like Karen has recently. Does Allison even play anymore? I thought she was semi-retired like Efren.Karen and Allison get destroyed by the Asian women - Siming Chen for example
Siming Chen has matched up with the men before. She is right up there with some of the best. Not sure who the top women are anymore. I don't know what the exact correlation is between break speed and noise, but about 15 years ago there was a local (DC area) woman named My-Hanh Lac whose break shot could be heard 100 yards away, and at the time she couldn't have weighed more than 100 pounds. Loudest break I've ever heard this side of Larry Nevel himself. She was a very good player other than that, but her lack of focus made her not much competition for the best local men. She wound up getting on the WPBA tour just as it was breaking up, never did much on that tour, and I have no idea where she is today, or even if she's still playing pool. But that break shot was something else.Karen is to be respected at the highest level in my opinion. We can all agree she was a rival to the great Alison Fisher.
