Pool Ball Weights

A crafty machinist somewhere should make some sort of half spherical jig to test roundness. I assume that's what the ball makers used in the old days.
I bought a spherical micrometer at a trade show years ago….but they never shipped it. Next trade show, I mentioned it to them.
They couldn’t find any details of the transaction…I had used my visa…but I didn’t feel like the hassle. Another $150 gone.

Original Cyclops Set: Used condition, no blemishes
Cyclops Athena Set: Used condition, no blemishes
Cyclops Hyperion Set: Used condition, no blemishes

All of this is MY experience and opinion. I recognize others here have different views... I have 2 different sets of Dynaspheres, and if budget is most important, the Dynasphere Bronze is CLEARLY the best value on the market. My FAVORITE set is my Predator Arcos II set. My PERSONAL experience and opinion is they play cleaner longer than any other set I have and they are on my table the most. I also have Brunswick Centennials which are a great and classic set but quite expensive. Finally, the Aramith Tournament and Tournament black are supposed to be the best offerings from Aramith and I like them a lot as well. After Arcos II and Dynaspheres, I think the Tournament balls are best in terms of staying clean, which I translate to best / strongest finish. ANY OTHER OFF BRAND YOU BUY From the big auction sites will be a waste of your money.

My Dynasphere Bronze set came in last week. I did practice for two hours without cleaning them first. I got one skid that caused me to miss. Now back to weighing them.

It is possible to cut and paste a table from Excel and it keeps the table format. I think the default display for text will compress all white space to a single space. (There is lots of extra white space in that sentence.)
Yes, and if you want to be sure, use "paste-special-bitmap".

Data updated to include my newly acquired set: Dynaspheres Rhodium. I also reformatted the data so it is easier to read (larger).

Those are screenshots directly from Excel.
And this is how they come out if you cut and paste from Excel. You can actually edit on the forum copy. And, people can grab your data if they want to do their own analysis. (I worked from a rough OCR copy, so there are errors.)

I prefer to not allow the data be edited in the forum, hence the screenshots.

I bought a set of new old stock Rashig 3 years ago. I guess 30 years old or so. They were horrible. All the markings on the balls had sunken in. I was really surprised. I haven't taken them out of the box since. They will be part of my data set when I get around to making my gauge projects.
I need a favor. Would you take a picture of those balls with numbers straight up and post it?

Thank you very much.
