This one is a feat not that many players achieved in their career..beating dennis on his home turf takes SKILLS..

"I finish my match against Dennis Orcollo
Alcaide -63
Orcollo-59
super happy for my game and the victory, playing a long set against the king of the money game and beating him and in the Philippines was one of the things I always thought about trying to achieve,
thank sharks and all his team for giving me this opportunity and making me feel at home, thanks guys
🥰

now a few days of vacation in Boracay before going back to manila for my last game against Carlos Biado"

Shane is supposed to be going over there in a couple of months for some challenge matches (Dennis, Carlo). Produced by the same people and livestreamed.
Are these the same people that banned Ronnie Alcano and Anton Raga from their future events..?

I don't know. Raga played a match with Dennis on Pinoy Pool Master not too long ago. I believe it is donations only to watch. They do a pretty good job of streaming some great matches. So many great players in the Philippines you can see there.

Surprised how little attention this is getting. Maybe some AZBers lost some money on this one?

Anyway, nice upset win by Alcaide. Seems there's been this idea for a while that certain 800+ Fargo guys are dead meat when gambling or playing long races and can only win in tournament formats.

they fumbled the stream, maybe. i usually get push notifications from them but didn't get it for this match, and it wasn't available the day after either. it's up now though on youtube.

I never believe that players will same speed will fare much differently
The main difference in performance is due to conditioning. A tournament player with same speed as gambling player will do as well in gambling if he is conditioned and spends time effort in gambling environment (eg. Appleton). Just as a gambling player will do as well in tournaments if he is conditioned and spends time effort in tournament circuit (eg. many Filipino players)

It's different protocol. Tournament play has tremendous pressure because less room for error, shorter race equals less time to make up for mistakes. Most of the gambling matches Ive seen are just marathon matches where it comes down to who can stay awake! LOL. More time to overcome errors. These races to 100 are like watching paint dry. To each his own.

Yes. Sharks 9 ball
do you know what month the svb vs. dennis will take place? i assume 10-ball
Will be the offseason downtime period (mid Aug to Oct) from after Matchroom European Open until US Open

They already line up few Filipino sharks- Johann Chua, Benares, Orcollo.
Saw the Kaiser also in the mix
Anton Raga not playing cos he is banned.
But am surprised Biado, Lee Van not in.
😁

He should go on a tour of street games like we see Efren doing. I'd love to see a top American or European matching up in a few of those games with chaos between racks, roosters crowing, powder all over the table and world class pool being played.

Not surprised Biado took down Alcaide.
Carlo is one of the most consistent players overall, and a top 3 money player in the world imo.
He's a tuff out for anybody, anytime.
