Yes Louie Robert’s too. I only saw him play a few times.Great choice! I was thinking of Kim too. His stroke was straight and pure every time, without a flaw! He was rock solid at the table too, zero movement anywhere except his arm and his eyeballs. The only other player I ever saw go through the ball like that was Louie Roberts.
Fat boy, what do you think of busty stroke now? Compared to his heyday in the late 90s though to mid 2000s?Yes Louie Robert’s too. I only saw him play a few times.
Kim was so solid and had the complete package.
Johnny of course had a amazing stroke but his wrist was twisted in a little, like Earl. They both make it work and arguably play better than Kim ever did.
CJ looked amazing too. Thinking more about it.
But from a “looking good” perspective Kim was something else. Wow.
Busty-what to say? He makes it work, it’s not pretty but it’s not ugly. It’s cool looking.
I love it!Fat boy, what do you think of busty stroke now? Compared to his heyday in the late 90s though to mid 2000s?
He definitely changed something, looks like a really big pause now, before he shoots
I remember back in 99 when I first saw him. The Most creative player.
Absolutely on-target. Kim was devoid of any shortcomings in setup, stance and stroke mechanics. An ideal model for emerging players or any of us with seemingly irremediable flaws we'd like to work on.If I had to pick one, overall it would be Kim Davenport as the whole package.
Great read there. Must have great to meet him. Him show you exactly what he does!!I was lucky enough to have met Kim in 85 and watched him for 6 years before I moved to Vegas full time. I seen him in $5 tourneys, action(big and small) Reno many many times. I watched him improve from 85 as he just got stronger and stronger. His Szam is in the vault up stairs. Great memories for me.

Also even if I didn’t know him I’d still have the same opinion of him. It’s just a coincidence. Sigel has a great set up as well and plays a hair stronger I’d say. But I like Kim’s “look” more. Which is what this thread is about. And as Jay correctly mentioned Louie Robert’s as well.
As I noted earlier I look better than I play-horrible problem lol I copied Kim best I could.
That was nice. It's amazing that out of all the matches available on YouTube, you can rarely see the full stroke. Usually their right arm is offscreen or you get a head on view that is much less informative. This video that I took of allison when she visited my area. The stroke at 23 secs mark.
Earl is superhuman. Efren is supernatural. But Sigel seems to do things that a human can do. He has just refined his execution to perfection.Sigel had a beautiful stroke. Look at any of the old vids/dvds, and his setup and stroke were gorgeous. Head, cue and elbow in perfect alignment. Slow backstroke and smooth acceleration. Cueball control and shotmaking second to none.
Kim's the only pool player I can think of that looks like an athlete. He looks like he should be throwing a football.I was lucky enough to have met Kim in 85 and watched him for 6 years before I moved to Vegas full time. Rafael has the balls of a burglar too. He'll shoot any shot at any time. Fearless shooter.Fwiw, Efren said Rafael Martinez and Antonio Lining had the most powerful strokes he's seen.
You have offended Danny Basavich.Kim's the only pool player I can think of that looks like an athlete. He looks like he should be throwing a football.
Maybe if he thought discretion can be the better part of valor he's be a world champion. I love watching him play and shoot and make shots everyone else would duck. There's nobody better with a cue. Sometimes I think the safety is the higher percentage play, though.Rafael has the balls of a burglar too. He'll shoot any shot at any time. Fearless shooter.
Good point, Niels Feijen is in good shape, too.You have offended Danny Basavich.
Rodney Morris and Hohman can probably lift the table.
Saw Kim play with a Szambotti here before his eye injury.
Great stroke.
He’s a golfer. Was pretty solid actually.Kim's the only pool player I can think of that looks like an athlete. He looks like he should be throwing a football.
This is a little-known secret attitude to mentally cultivate in beginning players you're coaching.Karen Corr amazed me in the 90’s when I was at a tournament Mt.Pleasant Mi. Soaring Eagle casino. She stroked through the ball like it wasn’t even there. She won that tournament & was player of the year that year & I believe the next also. If I’d not been there in person I don’t believe I’d have been that impressed
last I heard she had back surgery, and is also working as a full time nurse. I think allison mentioned this in a recent live stream. This is a little-known secret attitude to mentally cultivate in beginning players you're coaching.
Anyone know if Karen still plays?
